]]> TEHRAN (Iran News) – While the outbreak of a novel coronavirus epidemic in Iran has raised concerns in recent days, President Hassan Rouhani assured people that the situation will return to normal on Saturday unless the national headquarters for controlling the disease makes a new decision.

Speaking at a Tuesday meeting of National Headquarters to Fight against Coronavirus, Rouhani said the situation across the country is expected to return to normal as of Saturday, and public places can continue their activities while paying attention to the health recommendations.

He also said that fomenting fear about coronavirus is a plot by the enemies who are attempting to halt the Islamic Republic’s activities.

Pointing to a promising report issued by the Health Ministry about harnessing coronavirus, Rouhani said, “The report shows that the virus is being reined in and the number of people going to hospitals has decreased dramatically.”

He appreciated the hard work of all physicians, nurses and medical staff across the country, adding that “the decisions made by the headquarters are binding and unnecessary gatherings will be canceled.”

The president stressed that the supply of whatever is needed for medical personnel at hospitals must be prioritized and they must be provided as soon as possible, IFP reported.

Rouhani reiterated that the necessary instructions will be issued by the Ministry of Health and the reference for people must be the state TV.

“At schools, high schools, universities, and workplaces, everyone should pay attention to health recommendations, but we must all continue our work and activities,” he underlined.

He also said the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Trade has given assurances that all producers of disinfectants, detergents, and masks are active, and they are working round the clock.

He went on to say that it is also necessary to educate people about COVID-19.

“Fortunately, the experts and the IRIB have been active in this regard and they must tell people the truth,” he concluded.

On Tuesday, the head of Iran’s Civil Defense Organization assured people that the number of new cases of the novel coronavirus in the country will decline in the weeks to come.

According to Iran’s Health Ministry, the number of people who have died from the coronavirus in the country has risen to 15 and the total number of confirmed cases to 95.

At least 24 people infected with COVID-19 have recovered from the disease after being admitted to the hospital.

]]> TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran’s health minister Saeed Namaki assured on Saturday that there is enough number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) test kits in Iran.

According to the latest official announcements, some 285 individuals suspected of corona have been tested in Iran, of which 28 ones showed positive results.

As reported, five have lost their lives.

The Iranian government has started mass distribution of masks across the infected cities.

The 4th shipment of coronavirus test kits entered in Iran on Friday.

In a Friday tweet, the Spokesperson of health ministry Kianoush Jahanpour wrote, “The 4th shipment of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) test kits has been entered in Iran by the representative of World Health Organization in Iran Dr. Christoph Hamelmann and delivered to Pasteur Institute of Iran.”

According to Health Ministry officials, tests of 18 patients have been confirmed positive for COVID-19 in the country while four of the patients have lost their lives.

“China closely follows the COVID-19 situation in Iran and expresses condolences over the passing of the two patients,” Geng Shuang said earlier, in his regular press conference on Friday.

“In this fight against the virus, China and Iran have been standing firmly together. The Iranian government and people provided China with valuable support and help, and Foreign Minister Zarif was the first foreign minister who publicly voiced support for China,” he added.
