TEHRAN (Iran News) – If clearing a “white” murderer of all charges was not enough for you, take this one. Three U.S. congress members have offered an internship to the murderer.

On November 19, Madison Cawthorn, Matt Gaetz, and Paul Gosar offered an internship position to Kyle Rittenhouse, a teenager who killed two protestors in August 2020.

They offered the position after the 18-year-old Rittenhouse was found not guilty of the five counts he faces for shooting two protesters and injuring a third during protests in Kenosha, Wisconsin last summer.

The next day, Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., called for the expulsion of House Republicans who have offered the internship to Rittenhouse.

“Just being real: every day it feels more and more dangerous coming to work. Not only do these members fuel violence. Now they’re actively recruiting someone whose sole qualification is killing people standing up for Black lives and getting away with it,” Bush tweeted. “They must be expelled.”

Bush included screenshots of three public offers to hire Rittenhouse as an intern from the Republican Reps. In response to the offers, Rittenhouse’s criminal defense attorney said he thinks his client pursuing a career in politics would not be a “wise thing” to do.

To understand the true color of the United States, we must first get to know the “white” murderer, Kyle Rittenhouse.

Rittenhouse, a member of an armed white militia, killed two anti-racism protesters after shooting them with an assault rifle as he was patrolling the streets, staying out after a curfew with the approval of police officers on duty at the time, who infamously handed out water to groups of armed civilian men who are part of militia groups.

The court found Rittenhouse not guilty for intentional homicide, reckless homicide, attempted intentional homicide among other counts. The judge even cleared Rittenhouse of a charge that he was a minor (aged 17 at the time of the shooting) in possession of a dangerous firearm. The courtroom claims he acted in self-defense but there was no accountability for even manslaughter which means the victims who lost their lives and their loved ones will not see any justice.

The representatives who offered the internship position to Rittenhouse are known for their racism. Just last week, Cori Bush asked for expulsion of Paul Gosar, one of the Congressmen who offered an internship job to Rittenhouse, for posting and edited anime that portrayed killing minority representative, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.

Gaetz, one of Trump’s biggest fans and a “white supremacy” theory supporter and advocate, has a long record of racist comments. He is a big supporter of “great Replacement Theory,” introduced on live TV by Fox News host, Tucker Carlson. Basically, the idea says that white Americans are being replaced by non-European ethnicities in service of a grand political project by the Democratic Party. It’s a deeply racist idea that presupposes white people are the “real Americans”.

The theory neglects Native Americans as real and original Americans.

It also says that all immigrants vote monolithically for the Democratic Party.

When the theory first broke out, many people called on Fox News to fire Carlson, but Gaetz rose to support him.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) asked Fox News to fire Carlson, but Gaetz said that ADL is being racist.

The biggest racist and white supremacist of all time, Donald Trump went even so far as to congratulate the white murderer as well as praising the court’s verdict.

Trump has stirred up racism in America for the past 6 years by motivating white supremacist groups, but one must not think that the issue is personal. Systemic racism has always been the main problem in the United States.

Although the U.S. tries to portray a rosy picture of itself, the bitter truth was what we all witnessed on November 20: White people can kill and receive job offers while minorities are being stumped.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – The 18th International Congress on Multiple Sclerosis (MS) will be held virtually from December 1 to 3, ISNA reported on Sunday.

The Iranian MS Society is to host the international MS congress with the cooperation of the MS research center of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, faculty members of medical universities, and neurologists across the country.

The scientific event will be held in order to advance research and effective treatments for MS and to promote the scientific level of the Iranian medical community.

MS is one of the most common diseases in the central nervous system, that is, the brain and spinal cord. Multiple Sclerosis is an inflammatory demyelinating condition, which is caused by damage to myelin, a fatty material that insulates nerves.

According to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, more than 2.8 million individuals suffer from neurological disease, which is found more in women than in men.

The total number of MS patients admitted by the Ministry of Health system all around the country has now reached above 70,000 people, which is an alarming number, Mehdi Shadnoush, head of the Health Ministry’s center for transplantation and disease management, said in May.

Stating that the prevalence of the disease is still 2.5 times higher in women than men and is developed more in the age group of 20 to 45 years, he noted that according to global statistics, the average prevalence is 112 people per 100,000 populations and its incidence is 5.2 per 100,000 populations. Of course, this ratio varies from country to country.

In Iran, every 87 per 100,000 populations are diagnosed with the disease, which is one of the countries with the highest prevalence rate, he added.

However, in recent decades, MS prevalence in Iran has grown larger than ever, especially in urban areas, he lamented, adding, so that the timely diagnosis and control of the disease among youth comes to attention more than ever.

On average, about 5,000 people develop MS in the country every year, according to Shadnoush.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Democratic prosecutors declaring “no one is above the law” went head to head with White House lawyers as closing arguments wrapped up at President Donald Trump Senate impeachment trial, setting the stage for his likely acquittal on Wednesday.

“You can’t trust this president to do the right thing,” chief House prosecutor Adam Schiff said in an emotional speech on the Senate floor on Monday at the end of the two-week trial, AFP reported.

“Truth matters little to him,” the California lawmaker told the 100 members of the Senate who will decide Trump’s fate. “What’s right matters even less and decency matters not at all.

“He will not change and you know it,” Schiff said of the former New York real estate tycoon turned politician. “Now do impartial justice and convict him.”

White House lawyers flatly rejected the arguments that Trump – just the third president in US history to be impeached by the House of Representatives – should be removed from office by the Senate for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

“The president has done nothing wrong,” White House counsel Pat Cipollone said, calling the impeachment by the Democratic-led House “purely partisan and political.”

“We put our faith in the Senate,” he said.

“End the era of impeachment once and for all,” Cipollone said, arguing that the American people – not the Senate – should decide whether Trump remains in office.

Jay Sekulow, another of Trump’s lawyers, said the House impeachment was “reckless” and urged the Senate to acquit.

“The bottom line is that the president’s opponents don’t like the president and they don’t like his policies,” Sekulow said.

The Senate is to vote at 4:00 pm (2100 GMT) on Wednesday and the Republican president is all but certain of being acquitted.

Republicans hold 53 seats in the Senate to 47 for the Democrats, but a two-thirds majority, or 67 senators, is needed to remove a president from office.

The House of Representatives impeached Trump on December 18 for withholding $391 million in military aid to Ukraine to demand that Kyiv open an investigation into his potential November election rival, Democrat Joe Biden.

Schiff urged senators to find “courage to stand up” to the president.

“When the president tries to coerce an ally to try to help him cheat in our elections and covers it up we must say enough,” he said. “He has compromised our elections and he will do so again.”

Colorado lawmaker Jason Crow, another House prosecutor, said impeachment was an “extraordinary remedy.”

“It is in the Constitution for a reason,” he said. “In America, nobody is above the law, even those elected president of the United States.”

Crow told the senators their votes would echo through history.

“What you decide on these articles will have lasting implications for the future of the presidency, not only for this president but for all future presidents,” he said.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders followed an angry attack on Donald Trump’s ordered airstrike assassination of Iran’s top military commander with the announcement of a new bill to block funding for a war against Iran — unless Congress approves.

Sanders announced the bill at a campaign stop Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa. The measure, which will be introduced with Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), would “prohibit” any federal funding of any offensive military action in or against Iran “without congressional authorization,” he said, HuffPost reported.

“If Congress wants to go to war, let Congress have the guts to vote for war,” Sanders challenged. Otherwise, lawmakers must block such action, he urged. “Do not let this president take unilateral action.”

“Our founding fathers gave the responsibility over war not to the president, but to Congress,” Sanders declared. “That is very clear in the Constitution. And in my view, Congress must act in the face of a president who has shown time and time again that he cannot be relied upon to tell us the truth, or to make well-thought-out decisions.”

Sanders called the killing of Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani a “dangerous escalation,” and a step toward another “disastrous war” in the Mideast.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) also weighed in on the conflict Saturday, calling Trump “reckless,” and blaming him for fueling increased tensions that started with his abandonment of the Iranian nuclear deal last year.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – US 2020 presidential, House Representative Tulsi Gabbard has been urged to resign from her post in the wake of defying the Democratic Party and voting “Present” in the impeachment of President Donald Trump.

A former Democratic governor of Hawaii called on the presidential hopeful on Monday to immediately resign from her seat in the lower chamber of US Congress.

Neil Abercrombie, who led the state from 2010 to 2014, personally phoned Tulsi Gabbard for voting in favor of Trump.

“I’ve left a detailed message for her as to what I was thinking, what I was doing and what I hoped she would do,” Abercrombie told Politico in a phone interview following his announcement. “I’m sure she pays attention to her voicemail.”

Abercrombie is a former longtime House member, who has himself resigned from Congress.

“Trying to do my job in Washington and run for office, another office, in Hawaii was just too difficult. I couldn’t do it,” he recalled. “I had hoped maybe I could do it, and it became obvious that I couldn’t. So I resigned my seat.”

In a historic vote on Wednesday, the lower chamber of US Congress voted to impeach the president over-pressuring Ukraine for personal political gain.

“Then she didn’t vote on the budget for next year… I thought, ‘That’s it.’ Regardless of what her intentions were or what her motivations are, she’s not able to do the job for the 2nd District,” Abercrombie said. “The bottom line for me is simple… I believe that the only really honorable thing to do and sensible thing to do and politically forthright thing to do is to resign the seat, let us have a special election and then see whoever wins that seat whether they can do a good enough job to win a primary in August and a general election next November.”

The majority of the lawmakers supported both articles of tulsi gabbard, abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The abuse of power article was passed on a 230-197 vote and the obstruction article was passed by 229-198.

A US appeals court judge ruled that President Donald Trump’s top aides must comply with subpoenas issued by the impeachment investigation against him.

In a case involving former White House counsel Don McGahn, subpoenaed in May by the House Judiciary Committee, Judge Ketanji Jackson ruled that administration officials cannot claim absolute immunity from impeachment subpoenas based on their closeness to the US leader. Iran News quotes what AFP reported on Tuesday.

While Jackson ruled specifically on McGahn’s case, she said it had broad application to all current and former presidential aides.

“Presidents are not kings,” Jackson wrote in her decision.

“No one, not even the head of the Executive branch, is above the law.”

She said Congress has the power to subpoena any of the president’s advisors, whether they are involved in domestic policies or sensitive national security issues.

“It goes without saying that the law applies to former White House Counsel Don McGahn, just as it does to other current and former senior-level White House officials,” she wrote.

No ‘absolute immunity’

That ruling could open a path for the House Intelligence Committee – which is building a case for impeachment charges against Trump — to force testimony from three top witnesses: former national security advisor John Bolton, White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

All are believed to have direct knowledge of Trump’s alleged demand that Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky open investigations into Trump’s Democratic rivals in exchange for a high profile summit and much-needed military aid.

“To those witnesses who hide behind fallacious claims of absolute immunity, this ruling shows again how meritless their position remains,” intelligence committee chairman Adam Schiff said in a statement.

The ruling could also give fresh life to the stalled impeachment case in the Judiciary Committee, which has tried to develop charges against Trump for obstructing investigation into the alleged Russian collusion led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

Mueller’s final report in April outlined 10 acts of alleged obstruction by the president.

“Don McGahn is a central witness to allegations that President Trump obstructed Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation,” Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler said in a statement.

“The administration’s claim that officials can claim ‘absolute immunity’ from Congressional subpoenas has no basis in law, as the court recognized today.”

But testimony won’t happen right away, as the Justice Department plans to appeal Jackson’s decision, said department spokesperson Kerri Kupec.

That could take the case to the Supreme Court, and in the meantime, the department could seek a court stay to prevent McGahn or others from speaking before the two committees.

A deeply divided Congress formally opened a new, public phase of its investigation into President Donald Trump on Thursday as US lawmakers voted for the first time to advance the impeachment process targeting the US chief executive.

“Today the House takes the next step forward as we establish the procedures for open hearings of Trump impeachment probe… so that the public can see the facts for themselves,” said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Washington’s top Democrat, Iran News covers what AFP wrote.

“What is at stake in all of this is nothing less than our democracy.”

The House of Representatives voted along party lines, 232 to 196, to pass a resolution that lays out guidelines for the next stages of Trump impeachment probe

All Republicans opposed the measure, despite agitating for weeks for such a vote that could end the secretive depositions and bring the process into the open.

Democrats are seeking to learn whether Trump abused his presidential power by pressuring a foreign government to investigate a domestic political rival.

Trump has repeatedly branded the inquiry illegitimate and said it is politically motivated, a theme he returned to in the wake of the vote.

“The Greatest Witch Hunt In American History!” he said on Twitter.

The White House accused opposition Democrats of being “fundamentally un-American” in their “unhinged obsession with this illegitimate impeachment.”

“Democrats are choosing every day to waste time on a sham impeachment — a blatantly partisan attempt to destroy the President,” Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said in the statement after the vote.

Trump meanwhile called on his fellow Republicans to support him even as he faced the embarrassing likelihood of becoming the third president in history to be impeached and placed on trial for removal in the Senate, over an alleged scheme to extort Ukraine’s help to get him reelected in 2020.

The embattled president retweeted a rallying cry from Fox News host Laura Ingraham that called on Republicans to “stand together and defend the leader of their party against these smears.”

‘False defenses’ to prevent Trump impeachment probe

Trump is accused of withholding military aid to compel Ukraine to mount a corruption probe against his Democratic election rival Joe Biden — effectively using US foreign policy in an illegal shakedown for his personal political benefit.

Congressional investigators have heard a steady flow of corroborating evidence from government officials testifying behind closed doors on Capitol Hill.

The landmark resolution did not have unanimous Democratic approval. Two Democrats joined all Republicans in opposing the measure, although former Republican Justin Amash, now an independent, supported it — and offered a searing warning to his old party.

“Excusing his misbehavior will forever tarnish your name,” he tweeted to Republicans regarding Trump. “History will not look kindly on disingenuous, frivolous, and false defenses of this man.”

The inquiry now moves into the public eye – giving Americans the chance to hear on live television the evidence against Trump.

The House Intelligence Committee, which has led the inquiry so far, will host open hearings, presenting witnesses and documentary evidence and allowing Republicans to challenge the case against Trump.

The minority can also suggest subpoenas but majority Democrats have final say, a rule that has angered Republicans.

Democrats argue that the vote neutralizes a key Republican talking point that the inquiry has no validity because the full House did not sign on.

If the case against Trump is deemed strong enough, the House Judiciary Committee will draw up formal charges against the president — articles of impeachment — to be voted on by the full House.

It remains unclear how quickly the process can advance. Some say the Democratic-led House could impeach Trump by year end.

He would then be tried in the Senate, controlled by Republicans.

Nearly a dozen witnesses so far have confirmed in House depositions the accusations that, in a concerted effort with top aides and his personal lawyer, Trump pressured Ukraine to help his 2020 re-election effort by producing dirt on Biden, the former vice president.

The allegations focus on a July 25 phone call in which Trump pressed Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky to open investigations into Biden and Biden’s son, who worked with a Ukraine energy firm.

The White House has released a rough transcript of the call, and Trump said in an interview published Thursday that he hoped to read it on TV to the American people.

In potentially damning testimony Thursday, the White House National Security Council’s top Russia expert, Tim Morrison, confirmed that a diplomat close to Trump told Morrison that military aid would be withheld until Kiev committed to investigating Biden.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Not long after the US-Turkish agreement on Syria, approval of the Armenian Genocide in the US Congress caused a new crisis in the relations of Ankara-Washington.

The issue of the Armenian Genocide by the Ottoman is perhaps the most sensitive issue in Turkish foreign policy, which has been used at various times by different Western countries as a leverage of pressure on obstacles in Turkey-US.

Although many Western countries have already adopted similar bills in their parliaments regarding the Armenian Genocide and Turkey has repeatedly objected to this issue, the US Congress’s approval at the present time is considered as an attempt to use it as leverage on Turkey.

Turkish officials have also reacted strongly to the adoption of the Armenian Genocide bill in the US Congress on Tuesday.

Considering a political shameful decision made by US Congress, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that this decision is of no value to our government and our people.

Emphasizing this decision irrelevant, he mentioned that a major plot in the region was foiled by Turkey’s Operation Peace Spring, and this issue caused the old cases to be resurrected again.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry in a statement also rejected a US congressional decision and resolution.

A statement issued by the Turkish Foreign Ministry declared that the resolution was adopted in terms of US domestic policy, adding that it lacks legal and historical bases.

Emphasizing the aforementioned approval of the US congress violates international law and even US domestic law, the statement mentioned that there is no law in the international legal system that defines the 1915 events as genocide and the event must be examined in the context of history in accordance with the judgment of the European Court of Human Rights.

Referring to Turkey’s proposal for establishing a joint historical commission to investigate this issue in the year 2005, it added that the proposal was rejected by Armenia.

Chief advisor to the President of Turkey İbrahim Kalın also considered US congress resolution a political shameful decision.

Those accusing Turkey of genocide should first look at their history and their support to the Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia (ASALA) and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), he wrote on his Twitter account.

The Director of Communications at the Turkish Presidency Fakhreddin Alton also wrote on his Twitter account commenting on US congressional decision that the US Congress adoption and the threat of sanctioning Turkey contradict the spirit of the two countries’ strategic commitment.

Referring to the decision made by Turkey and US to increase the volume of their trade to $ 100 billion, he said that the US congressional approval comes at a time when the governments of the two countries are determined to increase the volume of trade to $ 100 billion and can disrupt US government policies.

Attempting to incite a NATO ally to support terrorist organizations is a strategic mistake and it cannot prevent Turkey from fighting with terrorist organizations and only damages the future of the two countries’ relations, he added.

According to observers, the resolution will be a serious issue in Turkish society in the coming days and weeks and would seriously undermine the obstacles in Turkey-US relations.
