TEHRAN (Iran News) – According to Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, head of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran, a two-day online international conference will be held on the issue of Quds.

Dubbed ‘International Conference of the Holy Quds’, the event will be held online on May 18-19 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Iran’s local time, said Arafi during a press conference in Tehran on Saturday.

He noted that the conference will be aired online from ‘live.alarbaeen.ir’ and also from the site’s accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube.

Guests from 18 different countries will a deliver speech in the event, he said.

According to the conference’s poster, the main subjects of the event are ‘Quds in the thoughts of Imam Khomeini and Leader’, ‘Zionist regime’s state terrorism’, ‘Islamic Resistance discourse and freeing the Holy Quds’, ‘the role of martyred commanders of the Resistance in the fight against Zionism’, and ‘deal of the century and American conspiracies’ among others.

Arafi said that after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, global equations changed and the Palestinian cause was put forward and the Israeli regime admitted defeat to Resistance movements.

Iran’s doctrine is based on a free election in Palestine with the participation of all Palestinians, he said, adding that if this approach is not accepted, the Islamic Republic will support legal fight and resistance against occupation.

Quds Day is being marked annually on the final Friday of Ramadan where hundreds of thousands of people across the world take to the streets to voice support for the oppressed Palestinians. However, this year, as the novel coronavirus outbreak has hit all the globe, demonstrations will also be affected.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Saturday that demonstrations in Iran will only be held in areas that have been recognized as ‘white’, meaning where the outbreak is under full control. He also said that Tehraners will attend a demonstration by their personal cars. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to use the capacities of social media to mark the day in Iran and in the world.

TEHRAN – Iran’s capital of Tehran on Sunday hosted a conference to discuss the impacts of the two letters that Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has sent to the youth in Western countries.

The “Dawn of Truth” conference kicked off in Tehran on Sunday morning with a host of political, academic and cultural figures in attendance.

The conference is marking the anniversary of Ayatollah Khamenei’s second letter to the Western youth in 2015.

Imam Khamenei first wrote a letter to youths of Europe and North America on January 21, 2015, to elaborate on the reasons behind the West’s effort to spread Islamophobia.

Later on November 29, 2015, Ayatollah Khamenei sent the second letter following a series of terrorist attacks in France, elaborating on the real factors behind terrorism and asking the young people to “lay the foundation for an appropriate and honorable interaction with the Muslim world based on correct knowledge and with deep insight and by taking advantage of tragic experiences (of the past)”.

The ongoing conference in Tehran involves speeches from Chief of the Leader’s Office Staff Hojatoleslam Mohammad Mohammadi Golpayegani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, and Ali Akbar Velayati, Leader’s senior advisor on international affairs.

Hamidreza Moqaddamfar, chairperson of the popular committee on propagation of Ayatollah Khamenei’s letters, is also going to give his report on the popular and voluntary moves by people inside and outside Iran to let the younger generation know about the letters both in the real world and the cyberspace.

A number of artists would also be awarded for their cultural works concerning those letters and their impact on the young people living in the West.

The Leader’s two letters to the Western youth circulated rapidly in the social networks, although Western and Zionist media outlets tried to censor the message.

An international conference on ways to counter Takfiri and extremist ideologies in the Muslim world is underway in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

Titled “The World Conference on Lovers of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) and the Takfiri Issue”, the two-day event opened in Tehran on Wednesday.

Organized by the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening, it is being attended by senior Iranian and foreign figures and officials, including Ali Akbar Velayati, the Secretary-General of the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening, the secretary of Iran’s Guardian Council (GC), Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati, Chairman of Iran’s Expediency Council Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi, Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance Movement’s second-in-command, Sheikh Naim Qassem, and Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi.

It focuses on the principles shared by the lovers of Ahl al-Bayt -the family of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)- and weighs plans for countering Takfiri and extremist ideologies through Muslim unity.

Back in June, the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening had invited intellectuals and scholars from around the world to submit their contributions to the secretariat of the assembly for presentation in the conference.

The international gathering discusses the following six main topics:

– Concepts, foundations, and thoughts of lovers of Ahl al-Bayt (AS);

– History and civilization of Islamic religions and its role in the establishment of modern Islamic civilization;

– Ideas of top Muslim thinkers and scholars in the formation of a single, united Muslim nation in the face of deviated groups;

– Alliance and integrity of lovers of Ahl al Bayt (AS) in the formation of a single, united nation;

– Identification of challenges and threats facing the lovers of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) and the Muslims world;

– Strategies and solutions to the unity of the lovers of Ahl al-Bayt (AS) in the face of enemies of Islam (global arrogance, Zionism, reactionary regimes and Takfiri groups).

The World Assembly of Islamic Awakening has held several meetings and conferences in recent years to strengthen Muslim bonds, support the cause of Palestine and counter Zionist policies, and fight against the ideologies of Takfiri, radical, and terrorist groups.
