Official rejects mediatory nature of Oman talks with Iran

Vaezi told reporters on Wednesday that as long as US officials continue with the same pressure policy and violation of their commitments, holding negotiations with them makes no sense.

“Recently, we’ve seen various countries trying to preserve the nuclear deal and at the same time prevent conflicts in the region,” Vaezi said. “Given the significance of the JCPOA, they wish for the situation to develop in a way to gain Iran’s approval. But these efforts do not mean that there will be negotiations between Iran and the US.”

Asked about the recent remarks by Iraqi officials on sending delegations to US and Iran to help ease tension between the two sides, Vaezi said “Iran and Iraq have close ties. We won’t tell them not to send delegations. But we will listen to what they have to say and respond accordingly.”

He also maintained that the talks between Iranian and Omani foreign ministers held recently in Tehran had nothing to do with mediation between Iran and the US.

US move against IRGC increased unity between nation, establishment

According to the official website of Iranian Presidency ‘President.ir’, Mahmoud Vaezi, Chief of Staff of Iranian President, made the remarks in a meeting with some senior economic and political executive directors on Saturday, during which he said that the US intended to divide the political parties in Iran by designating the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.

Vaezi said that US aimed to sow division between the Iranian nation and the Islamic Establishment, but they have failed to achieve that goal over the past forty years since the Islamic Revolution.

Ha added that the US terrorist designation of IRGC has had a reverse effect and has led the country towards more national unity.

The chief of staff described last year for the Iranian economy as a very difficult year but the country could tackle the immense foreign economic pressures through the wise leadership of the Leader of the Islamic Republic and maintaing national unity.

Iran to bypass US sanctions by private sector: official

Chief of Staff of Iranian President Mahmoud Vaezi said Saturday that it is possible to ditch US illegal sanctions against the Iranian nation by using the private sector.

“The United States imposed economic sanctions to create a gap between the Iranian people and government so as to reach its political aim,” he said, adding, “this is while one can bypass sanctions by the private sector.”

The Iranian nation has proved during the past 40 years that they would support the Islamic Revolution like their family, he added, while addressing private sector representatives of Hormozgan province in Bandar Abbas.

Elsewhere he said that Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will arrive at Bandar Lengeh, Hormozgan province, on Sunday morning and will address the local people hours later.

Vaezi said that President Rouhani will unveil Fateh submarine on the second day of his visit to the southern Iranian province. Earlier reports had indicated Rouhani would unveil the home-made submarine on Sunday.
