<p>TEHRAN (<a href="https://www.irannewsdaily.com/">Iran News</a>) The Iranian players defeated their Emirati rivals 2-0, securing the first title at the championships that came to an end on Saturday.</p>
<p>The U18 Iranian team also finished runner-up in the same championship, after losing 0-2 to Lebanon.</p>
<p>The Asian Juniors Padel Championships were held from December 12-21 in Manama in three categories of U14, U16 and U18.</p>

<p>Mohammad Nazemosharia’s side prepares to open its defense against Myanmar on Feb 2.</p>
<p>Team Melli, who won the Asian Indoors in Ashgabat last year, beating Uzbekistan 7-1 in the final, topped its group during qualification as it maintained a perfect record beating Afghanistan 8-2 and Tajikistan 12-2.</p>
<p>Ahead of the Finals, Iran beat Belarus 5-0 and 2-1 in Tehran. They also played to a 3-3 draw against Azerbaijan before beating them 4-1 in the return leg.</p>
<p>Two-time AFC Futsal Player of the Year Ali Asghar Hassanzadeh will lead a star-studded cast in Chinese Taipei which includes Mahdi Javid, Farhad Tavakoli, Ahmad Esmaeilpour, Moslem Oladghobad and Alireza Rafieepour.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h3 class="lead">TEHRAN- Iranian men’s team booked a place in the Asian Kabaddi Championships semi-final as the first team on Saturday.</h3>

<p>Team Melli, who had already defeated Thailand and South Korea, beat Sri Lanka 45-27 at the Azadi Complex in Gorgan, north of Iran.</p>
<p>The competitions are being held from Nov. 23 to 26 in the Iranian city.</p>
<p>The championships feature a total of 10 teams take part in each section, with India, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Pakistan, Thailand, Iraq, Sri Lanka and Turkmenistan competing in both the men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s sections.</p>
<p>In the men’s category, Iran has been drawn along with South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Turkmenistan in Group B.</p>
<p>Group A consists of India, Pakistan, Japan, Iraq and Afghanistan.</p>
<p>In the women’s category, Iran has been pitted against Sri Lanka, Japan, Iraq, and Pakistan in Group B.</p>
<p>The Iranian women’s team has defeated Iraq (71-6), Sri Lanka (28-23) and Pakistan ( 67-12) so far.</p>
<p>India, Thailand, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Turkmenistan, and Afghanistan are in Group A.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="summary">Mehran Hatami has named his 12-man team for the match against Iraq in the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification.</p>
<p>Team Melli will face the West Asian team Iraq on Nov. 24 in Group D at the Prince Hamza Arena in Amman, Jordan on Nov. 24.</p>
<p>Iran will host Qatar at the Azadi Gym three days later.</p>
<p>Kazakhstan are also in the group.</p>
<p>Iran captain Hamed Haddadi, who had already announced his readiness to accompany Iran in the competition, has not been invited to the team for the match against Iraq.</p>
<p>Sichuan Blue Whales center will join Team Melli for the match against Jordan, according to the coach.</p>
<p>“Haddadi joined us late and we decided to rest him for the first match. He will be invited to the team for Jordan match,” Hatami said in an interview with Iran’s Basketball Federation website.</p>
<p>“We take nothing for granted in the matches because we have to face strong rivals. Iraq has hired two American players and Kazakhstan has showed they have progressed very well in the recent years,” Iran coach added.</p>

<p>Both sides were evenly matched and neither could find a breakthrough as they shared the spoils after 90 minutes.</p>
<p>Iran football team was held to a 1-1 draw by Syria in its first match underway in Jordan.</p>
<p>Iran will play Palestine on Wednesday, while Jordan meet Syria.</p>
<p>Only the top team will assure an automatic berth in the Final in Indonesia next year.</p>

<p>The prestigious competition will kick off on Friday in Goa, India from October 6 to 28.</p>
<p>Iran has been drawn in Group C along with Guinea, European powerhouse Germany and Costa Rica.</p>
<p>Abbas Chamanian’s boys will start their campaign with a match against Guinea on Oct. 7.</p>
<p>After losing out on penalties to Iraq in the final of last year’s AFC U-16 Championship, Iran is set to embark on its fourth campaign at this level. Previous appearances in 2001, 2009 and 2013 saw the Iranians twice go beyond the Group Stage, a notable achievement that head coach Chamanian will be hoping can be repeated in India, the-AFC.com wrote.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span class="intro-text">TEHRAN – Iranian female wushu fighters collected 11 medals to land second overall at the 14th World Wushu Championships.</span></p>

<p>Final showdowns of the international sportive tournament in in the western Russian city of Kazan saw Iran clinching more medals at various divisions. Persian wushu practitioners finished runner-up in the tournament after winning eight gold, one silver and two bronze medals. China won the title with 15 trophies at the end of the tournament held at the Gymnastics Palace of Universiade Village in Kazan, Russia. The third place was occupied by Hong Kong who scooped five gold, three silver and three bronze medals.</p>
<p>Competing in -52kg weight group, Elaheh Mansourian of Iran defeated an opponent from Vietnam and stood on top of the podium.</p>
<p>Mansourian had struck an off draw in the opening round though she quelled rivals from Indonesia and South Korea on road to the finals.</p>
<p>Earlier, the Iranian men’s duelin Taolu team offered stunning athletic performances and collected the gold medal with a total score of 9.61 points.</p>
<p>Zahra Kiani also won 9.56 points to pick up the bronze in the Jianshu form of Taolu competitions in the tournament. Additionally, Haniyeh Rajabi earned 9.45 points to stand on the third podium in the Shuang Jian form of Taolu competitions.</p>
<p>In the women’s minus 70-kilogram category, Maryam Hashemi breezed past her Philippine rival and got the gold medal.</p>
<p>Moreover, Shahrbanou Mansourian stood on top of the podium once she downed her Egyptian rival in the final contest of women’s minus 65-kilogram category of the Sanda discipline.</p>
<p>In Men’s section, Mohsen Mohammadseifi clinched the gold medal in the minus 70-kilogram section after he defeated an Egyptian contestant.</p>
<p>On more gold medal was earned by Yousef Sabri who beat a rival from Macau in the men&#8217;s minus 75-kilogram class of the Sanda section.</p>
<p>Moein Taghavi beat his Belarusian opponent in the final debut of men&#8217;s minus 85-kilogram category and won the gold medal. Milad Arefi Magham overcame a representative from Egypt in the final match of men’s minus 90-kilogram division and received the gold medal.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, Hamidreza Gholipour failed to overcome a competitor from China in the final showdown of men’s over 90-kilogram weight category and was awarded with the silver medal.</p>
<p>The 14th edition of World Wushu Championships got underway on September 27, and came to an end on October 3, 2017.</p>

<h2><span class="intro-text">TEHRAN – Iran’s CP football team suffered a loss in the face of Ukrainian rivals to land in the second place at 2017 IFCPF CP Football World Championships in Argentina.</span></h2>

<p>The final showdown saw Iranian and Ukrainian CP footballers competing over the gold medal. At the end of a breath-taking debut, Ukraine got the better of the Persian side with only one goal.</p>
<p>As such, Iranian athletes stood behind title-winner Ukraine and occupied the second position in the international sportive event.</p>
<p>Previously in the group stage of the event, Iran’s CP football outfit had overcome Argentina and Portugal but conceded a defeat against Russian rivals.</p>
<p>In the second stage, Iranians succeeded in quelling Brazil and later breezed past English contestant on road to the finals.</p>
<p>The 2017 IFCPF CP Football World Championships was the world championship for men&#8217;s national 7-a-side association football teams. IFCPF stands for International Federation of Cerebral Palsy Football. Athletes compete with a physical disability. The Championship took place in the Argentina from 4 to 24 September 2017.</p>
<p>Football CP Football is played with modified FIFA rules. Among the modifications there are seven players, no offside, a smaller playing field, and permission for one-handed throw-ins. Matches consisted of two thirty-minute halves, with a fifteen-minute half-time break. The Championships are a qualifying event for the 2019 IFCPF CP Football World Championships.</p>
