TEHRAN (Iran News) –Director General of American Bureau of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran says Iran has reached agreement with Venezuela for exporting over 100,000 cars to Venezuela in five years.

Speaking to ILNA, Zahra Abeiri said that Tehran and Caracas have signed an agreement for export of 100,000 cars to Venezuela in five years, and in recent days, 1000 cars have been exported to Venezuela and Tehran is planning for sending 2,000 more cars. He added that the 1000-car batch was exported to Venezuela after receiving major part of money for the cars.

She then touched upon the latest details of trade between Iran and Venezuela and said that bilateral cooperation is in the fields of energy, scientific and technology, health and medicines, education, agriculture, tourism, petrochemical and industries.

Abeiri then pointed to the agreements between the two countries for improving electricity system in Venezuela, adding that dispatch of medicines especially in medical treatment of cancer, exchange of scientific co-operations, investment of over 40 Iranian companies in Venezuela, approval of protocols which are aimed at advancing the process for exchange of products with animal and plant roots, are of other fields of cooperation between the two states.

She went on to say that in the 20-year document which was signed between Iran and Venezuela during President Nicolas Maduro visit to Tehran in June, both sides drew up bilateral co-operations for the next two years. She stated that both oil-rich countries are under the U.S. sanctions and both are also the OPEC members and can have effective cooperation for making ineffective the sanctions, adding that Venezuela with over 33m hectares of cultivable land and abundant water resources have problems in agriculture.

Abeiri then pointed to the hurdles in way of progress in trade of both states, noting that long distance, technological weakness, lack of industrial tools are of the known problems in way of boosting trade, and these problems have made considerable amount of cultivable lands in Venezuela remain intact.

On the barter trade with Venezuela, he said that there are unique and individual capacities in this field that by planning by the government these capacities can be used. She then pointed to the fields for boosting cooperation like exporting technical services and gas condensates.

Abeiri added that Venezuela has asked for 200,000 cars from Iranian auto-maker SAIPA and both sides keen to launch the production line for SAIPA cars in Venezuela and soon it will happen.

TEHRAN (Iran News) –Chairman of Iran-China Joint Chamber of Commerce Majid Reza Hariri says 92% of Iran’s exports which are exported to China are oil products that that the government sector pursues it and the remaining 8% is carried out by the private sector and they are goods like carpet, dried fruits, saffron and handicrafts.

Speaking to ILNA, Hariri said that Iran is a good market for Chinese cars and added that lifting ban on imports of cars in Iran will provide good ground for Chinese cars to roll in Iran’s market. He added that since the ministry has set a price cap for the imported cars, it has made the country have less options and importers will be unable to think of European, Japanese and South Korean cars.

He added that the price of Chinese cars is in the range of 10,000 to 20,000 euros, adding that with the set price cap, Chinese cars would dominate major part of Iran’s car market and one cannot evaluate it as positive or negative move.

He went on to say that people’s purchasing power is clear and due to the economic ties and development, people’s purchasing power has strongly declined and purchasing a 20,000-euro car with inclusion of tax will not be economic and the question is how many people can buy cars with such a price.

Hariri noted that only some part of the middle class will be able to buy Chinese car with the price around one billion tomans and European cars will still be leading ones in the market with higher prices.

He added that during the sanctions era, Chinese companies invested in Iran and could take some part of Iran’s market, and by the way possibility for imports of Chinese cars is more than from other countries because the after sales services of Chinese cars in the country is possible and they can enter Iran’s market faster.

He reiterated that Chinese cars have gained acceptable rankings in the world and some of them have received European standard certificates but some other factors are important in imports of cars from China and maybe some old models at first are imported from China.

Hariri added that the role of private sector in the foreign trade is not vast, adding that 55% of non-oil exports of the country last year and in the first half of the current year has been non-oil products and in this field, the private sector cannot play colorful role, adding that 24% of the foreign trade is also the mineral products that it is in the monopoly of the government sector and it means that government companies account for 80% of Iran’s foreign trade.

TEHRAN (Iran News) –A member of board of directors of Iran-India Joint Chamber of Commerce rejected reports that Indian doctors are present in Iran and also reports of importing cars from India.

Speaking to ILNA, Mohammad Hassan Didehvar refuted some reports regarding the presence of Indian doctors in Iran and said it is just an assumption which has been raised by the Health Ministry due to shortage of educates and even this problem has gripped the knowledge-based companies, and in the near future Iran may be forced to import skillful forces like doctors but currently it is not true.

On Iran’s frozen money in India, Didehvar said that the amount of Iran’s frozen money in India is unknown. Touching upon the amount of the trade exchange between Iran and India, he said that the trade volume of Iran and India in the first 9 months of the year has been around $2.4b and Iran’s non-oil exports account for $1.34b of the total volume, and the remaining amount accounts for Iran’s imports from India. He added that the figure shows that Iran’s exports in the first 9 months have increased by 74% comparing to the same period last year while the value of imports have decreased by 37% and this has helped the trade balance between the two countries to become positive in favor of Iran.

Didehvar went on to say that rice is dominating import of Iran from India which is valued around $220m in 9 months. Black tea and aluminum oxide and green banana are of the major imports of Iran from India, he added.

He said that methanol and ammonia top the list of Iran’s exports to India and iron products, pistachio and steel shit are the other major exports of Iran to India. He expressed hope for the rise in exports to India and said that rice is the major traded goods between the two countries.

On the latest agreements and MoUs between Iran and India, Didehvar said that health ministries of the two countries have reached agreements on medicines and they are to implement them. He added that there are some agreements in the field of energy and the government is trying to reduce the levied tariff by India for Iranians, reiterating some of the agreements are being implemented or they are under study.

On the imports of car from India, he said this is not true because India is too weak in exporting cars, and cars in India are manufactured based on the country’s climate condition especially fuel and metal used in the cars, adding that ultimately Indians may be able to export some parts. He reiterated that in Iran’s car market, the Chinese have been successful and they are working hard to export their products which Iran’s market needs.

On the problem of human capital flight and brain wash, he said that some of the top educates of Iran’s top industry have left the county and some have remained for serving their military services, reiterating that this problem affects all fields of studies like medical or engineering fields.
