<p>Held in East Asia for the first time and a crucial qualifier for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the Kobe 2024 Para Athletics World Championships attracted over 1,000 athletes from 100 countries and regions to compete in 168 events.</p>

<p class="summary introtext"> Iranian karatekas bagged gold, silver and bronze medals at International Kyokushin Oyama Karate Championships held in Kiev, Ukraine, on October 27.</p>

<p>More than 300 karatekas from 10 countries participated in various competitions of the event; six karatekas represented Iran in this tournament; Edris Mahmoudzadeh and Omid Gol Cheshmeh won the gold medal, Mohammad Rahimifar snatched the silver, and Shahrokh Yazdani, Ahmad Sheikh Hosseini and Mohammad Mosaferfard won bronze medal.</p>
<p>Led by Mahyar Ziaei, Iranian team attended the tournament that was supported by Embassy of Japan in Ukraine.</p>
<p>Loghman Mahmoudi was also invited to Ukraine to judge the competitions at the invitation of the Kyokushin International Karate Federation.</p>
<p>A number of athletes from Ukraine, Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Sweden, Greece, Pakistan, Morocco and Moldova competed at the international tournament.</p>

<p>The world military wrestling championship in both freestyle and Greco-Roman has kicked off on May 14 and will continue to May 20.</p>
<p>Mohammad Nourbakhsh, in 63kg, snatched the gold medal for Iran.</p>
<p>Also Shirzad Beheshti claimed the bronze medal in 60kg.</p>
<p>Arman Alizadeh have won the ticket to the final match of 87kg which is going to be held tonight.</p>
<p>Also, Mehdi Mohammad Zadeh in 82kg, Ali-Akbar Heidari in 97kg and Benhnam Mahdi-Zadeh in 130kg have a change to fight for bronze medal.</p>

<p>He started the campaign with a 15-7 win over Miklos Pech from Hungary. Pakdaman beat Russian Dmitriy Danilenko 15-13 and defeated his compatriot Motaba Abedini 15-7 in his third match.</p>
<p>Pakdaman beat Hungarian Andras Szatmari 15-11 but failed to advance to the final match after losing to world No.1 Bongil Gu from South Korea.</p>
<p>Gu won the gold medal after beating Germany&#8217;s Matyas Szabo 15-10 in the final match.</p>

<p>In the men&#8217;s under 58kg competition, Ashourzadeh and Spaniard Jesus Tortosa Cabrera rounded out the podium by sharing the bronze medals.</p>
<p>South Korean Tae-Hun Kim sealed his country&#8217;s second title by overcoming Carlos Navarro of Mexico in the gold medal encounter.</p>
<p>The WTF World Taekwondo Grand Prix was introduced by the World Taekwondo Federation in 2013 to provide a homogeneous system for qualification to the Olympic taekwondo competitions with four competitions per year in each event.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h3 class="lead">TEHRAN  – Iran defeated France 3-2 (38-36, 25-23, 22-25, 25-27, 15-11) to win a bronze medal in the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Grand Champions Cup at the Osaka Municipal Central Gymnasium on Sunday.</h3>

<p>It was Iran’s first-ever medal on world’s stage.</p>
<p>Iran had five players that scored in double figures led by Amir Ghafour, who finished with 24 points. Seyed Mohammed Mousavi Eraghi and Mohammadjavad Manavinezhad notched 20 and 19 points, then Milad Ebadipour and Saman Faezi added 12 points each.</p>
<p>France also had five double-digit scorers, led by Trevor Clevenot and Stephen Boyer, who made 25 and 21 points, respectively.</p>
<p>Iran’s third participation resulted to their best ever finish at the World Grand Champions Cup, after finishing fifth in 2009 and fourth in 2013.</p>
<p>Iran also recorded four victories in a single edition for the first time.</p>
<p>Team Melli defeated Italy (3-2), USA (3-2), (Japan (3-1) and France (3-2) and lost to Brazil 3-0 in the competition.</p>
<p>Brazil won the title after defeating Japan 3-0 and Italy finished in second place.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span class="intro-text">TEHRAN– Esmaeil Amiri (68kg), Ghasem Dazi (75kg), and Habibollah Torabi (82kg) won bronze medals at traditional wrestling category of 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.</span></p>

<p>Habibollah Torabi who won his first game in the weight category of -82 kilogram, lost his semi-final event against a Turkman opponent to jointly bag the bronze medal in the category of traditional wrestling at 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.</p>
<p>The same destiny plagued the other Iranian wrestler Ghasem Dazi who overwhelmed his Uzbek rival 4-0 before conceding in the semi-final stage before another wrestler of the hosts, 4-0.</p>
<p>Esmaeil Amiri of the 68 kilogram class, the same way was defeated by a Turkmen rival at the semi-final stage to garner the third bronze medal of the field for Iran. A stage earlier he had defeated hi Uzbek rival 2-0.</p>
<p>The Iranian squad of traditional wrestlers is made up of Ghasem Norouzi (57kg), Hamid Bahrami (62kg), Esmaeil Amiri (68kg), Ghasem Dazi (75kg), Habib Torabi (82kg), Davoud Evazzadeh (90kg), Abdollah Iri (100kg) as well as Abdolvahed Mohammadi (+100kg).</p>
<p>Since September 16, the 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games is underway in Turkmenistan‘s capital city of Ashgabat. The tournament is scheduled to wrap up on September 27.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h3 class="lead">TEHRAN – Iran’s Amir Mehdizadeh and Saeid Ahmadi claimed two bronze medals at the fifth and final Karate 1 Premier League event of the season in the German cities of Halle and Leipzig on Sunday.</h3>

<p>Mehdizadeh defeated Vladimir Kalashnikov from Russia 8-0 in the Male Kumite -60 kg event in the bronze medal match and finished in third place.</p>
<p>Ahmadi also won the bronze medal in the -67kg after beating Thomas Jordan from England 6-0.</p>
<p>Iran took part in the competition in Germany with eight men and women karate practitioners.</p>
<p>The competition has reportedly brought a total of 1,384 male and female karate practitioners from 87 countries together.</p>
