In the field of policy-making, programs such as “identifying priority markets for the country from among all existing markets in the field of bio-economy”, “organizing and integrating policies adopted in different sectors”, “converging the activities of the related institutions, and creating infrastructures, capacities, and commitments necessary for the implementation of policies”, “drafting support policies for the balanced and proportional development of biotechnology in all areas, especially agriculture and environment”, “paying attention to the country’s potential in the field of marine biotechnology” and “strengthening the contribution of this area by formulating appropriate policies” are among the measures.

After approving the establishment of a biotechnology park in Bushehr province as the first biotechnology park in the country, a biotechnology council with the presence of experienced evaluation experts formed, then the necessary call was made on biotechnology companies to invest in this area, he explained.

At present, this office specializes in agricultural inputs, human and animal probiotic products, animal feed supplements, pharmaceutical products, diagnostic kits, and equipment, ISNA reported on Wednesday.

In order to implement the program, in the first stage, a sample farm with an area of 10 hectares has been chosen to test different types of fertilizers and seeds of 8 Iranian companies.

In the next stage, the products of 10 other companies with a focus on animal supplements and human probiotics have been selected to enter the market of this region after testing.

The establishment of specialized foreign offices in other countries is an action taken by the Biotechnology Development Council of the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology with the aim of expanding the export of bio-based products in international markets. It is planned to establish specialized offices in other countries by the end of March 2022.
