Zahavi said that “Robert’s motivations are not money or a specific club, because almost all top clubs would like to sign up the world’s best striker.”

He said he hoped Bayern president Uli Hoeness and CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge would understand the player’s position.

“Everyone in the Bayern club leadership has their own great career to look back on. They should understand his situation,” he told Sport Bild.

However, Bayern’s bosses have made it clear that Lewandowski will play for them next season.

Rummenigge told Kicker magazine earlier this month that Bayern fans “do not have to worry about Robert Lewandowski and the relationship with Bayern… We have a very good one.”

“We know what we have in him and I’m very happy that we still have such a long-term contract,” added Rummenigge.

“There’s no need to worry, he’ll play here in Munich again next year.”

Magazine Kicker also pointed out that Bayern’s senior bosses have repeatedly informed Lewandowski that there is no possibility of leaving before his contract expires.

But Mueller extinguished any hopes of a fight-back with his second and Bayern’s sixth as the attacking midfielder scored a classic striker’s goal.

When a Thiago pass played him into the area, Mueller shielded the ball with his body, then spun around his marker to bang his shot past Leno on 78 minutes.

Mueller was cheered off by visiting Munich fans when he made way for James Rodriguez on 80 minutes.

Having already wrapped up a sixth straight Bundesliga title, Bayern will now face either Schalke or Eintracht Frankfurt, who meet in Wednesday’s other semi, in the cup final in Berlin on May 19.

“We are delighted that we are going to Berlin,” said Bayern goalkeeper Ulreich.

Bayern host Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final a week on Wednesday before the return leg in Madrid on May 1.

“When we play like we did today, it will even be hard for Real,” added Ulreich as Bayern eye a repeat of their 2013 treble.

Bayern Munich have sacked coach Carlo Ancelotti in the wake of their Champions League defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain, the club announced on Thursday.

“FC Bayern Munich have parted company with head coach Carlo Ancelotti as a result of internal discussions following the 3-0 defeat in the Champions League group stage match at Paris Saint-Germain,” Bayern said in a statement on their website.

Former player Willy Sagnol, the ex-France international who had been serving as an assistant to Ancelotti, has been named interim coach. The 40-year-old has previously coached Bordeaux in his homeland.

But Bayern have also parted company with four Italian members of Ancelotti’s backroom staff, including his son Davide.

Pressure had already been building on Ancelotti, 58, with Bayern enduring an inconsistent start to the season before losing 3-0 to PSG in the French capital on Wednesday.

After that game the Italian was questioned by German media about his tactics and team selection, following his decision to leave Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben and Mats Hummels on the bench at kick-off.

“The performance of our team since the start of the season did not meet the expectations we put to them,” said Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

“The game in Paris clearly showed that we had to draw consequences. (Sporting director) Hasan Salihamidzic and I had an open and serious discussion with Carlo today and informed him of our decision.

“Carlo is my friend and will remain so, but we had to make a professional decision in the interests of FC Bayern. I now expect the team to have a positive development and top performance, so we can reach our goals for this season.”

The defeat in Paris was Bayern’s heaviest since losing 3-0 away to Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final first leg in May 2015.

It was also their heaviest loss in a group game in the competition since a 3-0 reverse in Lyon in March 2001.

Bayern are currently third in the Bundesliga table after six games, three points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund, before visiting Hertha Berlin on Sunday.

They have not been so far off the pace at the top of the Bundesliga so early in a season since 2010/11, when Dortmund went on to win the title and Bayern finished third.

Ancelotti led Bayern to a fifth consecutive Bundesliga title last season in his first campaign in charge after succeeding Pep Guardiola at the Allianz Arena.

However, the Bavarians lost to Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and to Dortmund in the semi-finals of the German Cup.

Ancelotti has also coached Parma, Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid, winning the Champions League three times in his career.

Among the potential replacements being mentioned is Thomas Tuchel, currently a free agent after leaving Dortmund at the end of last season.
