According to Basij organization’s news service, Brigadier General Gholamhossein Gheybparvar made the remarks on Saturday during a conference dubbed ‘Basij national cyberspace conference.’

“The art is to turn a threat into an opportunity and turn a light on in darkness to our advantage. Today, a simple invitation brought together a thousand of revolutionary youths in Tehran,” Gheybparvar said as a way to give an example for the opportunities that cyberspace can provide to Basijis.

He added, “why should we give up on this space? Why should this space be in the hands of the Zionists? Why should political ill-wishers use this space against nations and the religion of God? It is the duty of the Basij youth to be active in the cyberspace.”

Meanwhile, the Basij commander went on to urge the Basijis to enhance their knowledge of cyberspace, adding “the problem today is not the lack of effective human resources in cyberspace, but the problem is that our good Basijis cannot find each other and do not add to each other’s capabilities.”

Gholamhossein further pointed out “today, we must give our young people time to adopt an active role in cyberspace.”

“What happened in Mirjaveh was not the victory of the terrorists, but their humiliation in the face of truths on the front of right,” he noted in a post on Saturday.

Brigadier General Gholam-Hossein Gheibparvar urged Pakistani government to instantly adopt all necessary measures to help release Iranian forces, adding “it is for years, the terrorists have been nesting and living in Pakistan.”

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said in a statement issued on Tuesday that terrorists have kidnapped a number of Iranian forces in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, which borders Pakistan. IRGC said local Basij volunteer forces and border guards had been among those abducted overnight near the town of Mirjaveh on the Pakistani border.

Media reports are also speculating that the abductees had been fed poison by the terrorists prior to being crossed over into Pakistan.
