TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iranian institution Platform 101 is present at the 6th Wrong Biennale in Spain with the art project “Glitch in the Sacred Geometry”.

Curated by the Iranian multidisciplinary artist and curator Mohammad Ali Famori, the project features video artworks by 11 artists including Famori, Arezou Ramezani, Arash Masoom, Elnaz Mohammadi, Melissa Valipour, Mohammad Abdollahzade, Niloufar Baniasadi, Parisa Pakzamir, Reza Famori, Sadegh Majlesi, and Yasamin Asgharizadeh, Mehr reported.

Within the curated space, the visitors embark on a journey to explore the semantic and aesthetic dimensions of collapse, discontinuity, and destruction within the framework of sacred geometry.

Sacred geometry ascribes symbolic and sacred meanings to certain geometric shapes and certain geometric proportions. It is associated with the belief of a divine creator of the universal geometer.

Glitch art is the practice of using digital or analog errors for aesthetic purposes by either corrupting digital data or physically manipulating electronic devices.

Founded by Mohammad Ali Famori in 2018, Platform 101 is an independent and non-profit institution promoting trailblazing artists and cutting-edge forms of art.

Platform 101 has already made a name for itself in the world of new media art. The institution is widely known for creating a unique space that promotes freedom of expression and creativity. Platform 101 can also be considered the birthplace of glitch art in Iran.

The Wrong Biennale is an independent, multicultural, decentralized and collaborative international art biennial founded in 2013.

The Wrong has grown to become a massive international community and a global reference in the art scene, bringing together curators, artists and institutions, online and offline, every two years, garnering praise from worldwide press, art community and public.

A melting pot for the established, the emerging and the underrepresented, to explore creativity and digital culture in a positive and constructive way, The Wrong showcases a wide range of cultures, styles, and mediums to a global audience, fostering a more inclusive and diverse digital art scene, and encouraging artistic growth and experimentation.

Since 2013 the Wrong Biennale has featured art and work by over 10,000 artists and curators. This year’s edition of the event began on November 1 and will run through March 1, 2024.

As digital spaces increasingly permeate our lives, the landscape of contemporary art too has witnessed a significant transformation, shifting from the confines of traditional gallery spaces to expansive digital platforms. This new arena is where The Wrong Biennale stands out, reflecting this evolution and actively shaping the narrative of what artistic expression in the digital age can be.

In the Wrong Biennale, art is unrestrained by physical limitations and resonates across digital networks, especially when it comes to its adept fusion of art with technology. This union serves a twofold purpose: it amplifies the outreach of the showcased artworks and provides artists with a boundless creative space, unhindered by tangible confines. In this way, artists are able to share their innovations with a global audience and explore groundbreaking expressive techniques, reinforcing art’s global appeal.
