										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>TEHRAN (<a href="https://irannewsdaily.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Iran News</a>) – Tehran’s prosecutor said 36 people involved in the assassination of Iranian top commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani have been identified and the judiciary has ordered their arrest.</p>

<p>Ali Alqasimehr said the judiciary has also given their names to the international police to capture them, according to IFP News.</p>
<p>US President Donald Trump is top on the list and his prosecution will be pursued even after his term ends, Tehran’s prosecutor added.</p>
<p>He underlined that these people are accused of “murder” and conducting “acts of terrorism ”.</p>
<p>General Soleimani was the commander of the IRGC Quds Force and was widely known as a key figure in the fight against Daesh terrorists in the region. He was killed in a US airstrike ordered by Trump at Baghdad International Airport on January 3.</p>

<p class="summary introtext">Previously convicted Iranian businessman Shahram Jazayeri has been arrested in a smuggled consignment by Iran’s Customs Administration police.</p>

<p>According to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Jazayeri was arrested while he was trying to escape the country in a consignment.</p>
<p>A source familiar with the matter told Iranian media that he was found while a consignment of lentils was being checked by the Customs Administration police and then it was revealed that one of the people arrested there was the previously convicted businessman.</p>
<p>Jazayeri was imprisoned in 2001 at the age of 24 after he was convicted of a long-list of criminal activities including bribery, smuggling, forgery, and massive embezzlement of state money and property.</p>
<p>The Iranian govenment has recently intensified its efforts in the fight against corruption in a bid to tackle economic problems.</p>

<p>Speaking at a press conference, Mohseni Ejei said the house arrest was put in place due to   national security concerns, Fars reported.</p>
<p>Mehdi Karroubi, Mir Hossein Mousavi and his wife, Zahra Rahnavard, were placed under house arrest early 2011 after they insisted on their claims of vote rigging and called for protests.</p>
