Iranian archers bag 1 gold, 2 silver in Islamic Solidarity event

Iran’s national team of archery gained one gold and two silver medals at the 3rd International Solidarity Archery Championships in Bangladesh.

In women’s team recurve, the Iranian team, comprised of Parmida Ghasemi, Shiva Shojamehr, and Niloofar Alipour, bagged the gold medal by defeating India in the final game. The team had gained a victory over Bangladesh in the semifinal.

In mixed team recurve, the Iranian team settled for silver after losing the encounter to India in the final. Comprised of Shiva Shojamehr and Sadegh Ashrafi, the team won Iraq and Bangladesh in the route to final.

Shojamehr claimed another silver medal, this time in women’s individual recurve by suffering a defeat to a Bangladeshi rival in the final match.

Organized by Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF), the 3rd edition of International Solidarity Archery Championships is underway in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The event kicked off February 22 and it will wrap up tomorrow.

Iranian archers bag 4 medals at 2018 Asia Cup

Iranian archers’ performance at Stage 3 of 2018 Asia Cup resulted in four medals, including three silver and one bronze.

The competition which is a World Ranking Event kicked off on July 9 in Taipei and will wrap up on July 12.

In men’s individual compound section on Tuesday, Esmaeil Ebadi defeated opponents from Vietnam and India to reach the final but lost the game to South Korean archer and received silver medal.

Iran men’s compound team consisting of Esmaeil Ebadi, Nima Mahboubi and Amir Kazempour reached the final on Tuesday but again, defeated by South Korean rivals and bagged the silver.

In women’s compound section, Iran’s team consisting of Raheleh Farsi, Minou Abedi and Parisa Baratchi managed to snatch the silver medal of the competitions.

Also, Esmaeil Ebadi and Minou Abedi clinched a bronze medal for Iran in compound mixed team.

Iran’s Rohanian Takes Silver at Indoor Archery World Cup

TEHRAN – Parisa Rohanian from Iran claimed a silver medal at the first stage of the 2017-2018 Indoor Archery World Cup in Morocco.

She lost to Denmark’s Lena Agerholm in recurve junior women final and claimed the silver medal.

The bronze medal went to Madison Devencenzi from USA.

The second stage of the Indoor Archery World Cup takes place in Bangkok, Thailand at the start of December.

An Indoor Archery World Cup was inaugurated in 2010. It is played in the off-season (November to February).

Iran Women’s Compound Team Claims Gold at World Archery Para Championships

TEHRAN – On the last day of the 2017 World Archery Para Championships in Beijing, China, Iran contested all three team gold medal finals.

The women’s compound open match between Iran and China, the first and second seeds, was spectacular.

China opened with a 59 to take a four point lead. But Iran then found its mark, and reeled off ends of 59, 57, and 58 to win by six points.

Incredibly, the team’s total of 229 points matched the world record set just 15 minutes earlier by Russia in the bronze medal match.

The USA’s compound men then beat Russia to the bronze medal, 228-223.

On Saturday, Iran’s Zahra Nemati had won a gold medal at the recurve, beating Merve Nur Eroglu of Turkey, 6-2, in the final.
