TEHRAN (Iran News) In a telephone conversation on Sunday, Pezeshkian and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed hope that the two countries’ cooperation would continue to expand.

Pezeshkian stated that due to his busy schedule, he is not able to accept the Saudi King’s invitation to participate in the joint Arab League-Organization of Islamic Cooperation summit in Saudi Arabia, which is set to be held on Monday.

He noted that Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref will attend the meeting, adding, “I have no doubt that under your prudence, this summit will yield effective and tangible results in stopping the crimes of the Israeli regime and the war and bloodshed in Gaza and Lebanon.”

The president also expressed hope that, given the will of the leaders of both countries, the relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran would deepen and expand in all areas.

The crown prince, for his part, expressed gratitude for the phone call, saying that Saudi officials fully understand the Iranian president’s conditions and wish success for “our Iranian brothers.”

“The relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia are at a historic turning point, and I hope they will be elevated to the highest levels in all areas; I value the opportunity for your First Vice President’s presence in Riyadh and will have discussions with him in this regard”, bin Salman said.

He reiterated his invitation for Pezeshkian to visit Saudi Arabia. In response to Pezeshkian’s invitation to visit Iran, bin Salman said that it would be an honor for him to travel to Iran, expressing hope that this would happen as soon as possible.

TEHRAN (Iran News) –The Arabic editions of eight recently published books by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, are now available to Arabic-speaking readers in Lebanon.

The Cultural Attaché Office of Iran in Lebanon has released eight Arabic books by the Leader, with a focus on the role of Muslim women, Mehr reported on Monday.

The titles include “Modesty and Hijab in Islamic Iranian Lifestyle,” “The Role Model of Women,” “Women and Family,” and “The Position and Issues of Women in Islamic Culture and Modernity.”

Additionally, the list features titles like “Two Mujahid Imams,” “Discourse on Patience,” “The Epic of Imam Sajjad (AS),” and “Cultural Bases.”

“Modesty and Hijab in Islamic Iranian Lifestyle” attempts to carefully study, extract, and present all of the Leader’s speeches in five chapters with the titles of “Modesty and Chastity,” “Relationships between Men and Women,” “Hijab and Dress Code,” “Unveiling and Decadence,” and “Dealing with Decadence.”

In the process of extracting, collecting, and categorizing the Leader’s speeches, all of his speeches and messages about women from the beginning of the victory of the Islamic Revolution until 2013, including speeches that have not been widely covered by the media, such as the recommendations they made to young people during marriage sermon readings, have been examined. These speeches were found in the archives of the Leader’s office and their extensive volume demonstrates the Leader’s attention and concern for women’s issues.

“The Role Model of Women” carefully extracts all of the Leader’s speeches in various dimensions and in accordance with the needs of today in thirteen sections with titles such as: “The Importance of Presenting a Correct Role Model in Human Life,” “Fatemeh Zahra (SA), the Comprehensive Model of Women and Human Life,” “Fatemeh Zahra (SA) and the Family Sphere,” “Fatemeh Zahra (SA) and the Political and Social Struggle,” “Fatemeh Zahra (SA) and the Sphere of Spiritual Knowledge,” “Fatemeh Zahra (SA) and the Sphere of Worship,” “The Greatness and Perfections of Fatemeh Zahra (SA),” “The Ashura Model of Women,” “Quranic Models of Women,” “Becoming an Iranian Muslim Woman.”

In “Women and Family”, the Leader pays attention to the central role of the family in discussions about women, taking into account the legal and social aspects.

This book aims to extract the Leader’s viewpoints on marriage and family with a focus on women.

“The Position and Issues of Women in Islamic Culture and Modernity” highlights the importance of paying attention to women’s issues according to the Leader’s viewpoint. He believes in prioritizing women’s issues in order to address the historical oppression of women with a fundamental movement – an oppression that has existed for women in family and society, in the East and the West, from the past until now.

The current dangerous situation they face in the West, marked by the distortion of women with slogans of freedom and the destabilization of family status and economic exploitation of women.

On the other hand, by presenting a comprehensive and complete view of Islam regarding women, women can be elevated to their rightful high position and human dignity. In Islam, while recognizing the differences between men and women, their equality in the realms of human perfection is emphasized.

In this book, the statements of the Leader are presented thematically and titled, covering three chapters: the importance and roots of women’s issues, women in Western culture, and the status and position of women in Islamic thought.

“Two Mujahid Imams” includes six speeches by the Leader, analyzing the political struggles of Imam Hassan and Imam Hussein. The first two speeches in the book are from his lectures given in 1972.

In these two sessions, the Leader, in addition to explaining the theory of the “250-year-old human,” discusses the high and important position of Imam Hassan (AS) during that period, the reasons for avoiding war and accepting a ceasefire, and highlights the differences between the conditions of Imam Hassan (AS) and Imam Hussein (AS). The third to fifth speeches in the book are dedicated to three lectures given by the Leader in Mashhad in 1973. The theme of these lectures is the “analysis of the uprising of Imam Hussein.”

In the fourth speech, the goals of the uprising of Imam Hussein are discussed, and to clarify the subject, the roots of those goals are analyzed. In the fifth speech, after briefly reviewing the topics of the previous two speeches, the Leader refers to the era of Imam Hussein and his actions, presenting a comprehensive and documented discussion on this matter.

The perspective of the Leader in these six speeches is very unique, even though they were delivered when he was 32 and 33 years old. Numerous authentic and historical sources have been used in his speeches, making them different from ordinary speeches of that time and even the present, resembling more academic and scholarly sessions.

“Discourse on Patience” includes one of the Leader’s speeches in Mashhad in 1973, in which he discussed the hadith of Makarim al-Akhlaq. In this hadith, ten qualities of the prophets are mentioned. The Leader, while explaining these qualities, had a special focus on dispelling misconceptions about these fundamental teachings, especially in the minds of the youth. By redefining these qualities with a revolutionary approach that existed within these concepts, he aimed to make revolutionary youth more deeply rooted in Islamic struggles.

One of these qualities, mentioned as the third quality in the narration, is “patience.” The concept of “patience” had been subject to misconceptions. At the beginning of this discussion, the Leader bravely and ambiguously states that our society is under the rule of oppressors, and the misunderstanding of the concept of patience has led to more opportunities for the oppressors to perpetrate injustices.

He sees this understanding of “patience” as being completely contrary to Quranic and narrational teachings in this regard. The Leader explains the three types of patience: patience in performing obligations, patience in refraining from committing sins, and patience in times of calamity. By using religious teachings and historical evidence, he emphasizes the greater importance of the second type of patience.

Furthermore, he concludes this section by criticizing those who seek comfort and have abandoned the struggle, and by discussing the method of strengthening this type of patience in the face of calamities. The final part of the book is dedicated to discussing the worldly effects and benefits of patience, strengthening the motivation necessary for enduring difficulties and hardships in the audience through historical examples.

“The Epic of Imam Sajjad (AS)” consists of speeches by the Leader on the political and cultural struggles of Imam Sajjad (AS). The book is divided into three sections. The first section includes the speech of the Leader at the International Congress of Imam Reza. In this speech, delivered in 1986, he addresses the theory of the 250-year human.

The main part of the book focuses on four speeches by the Leader regarding the political and cultural struggles of Imam Sajjad (AS).

“Cultural Bases” contains the texts of the two meetings of the Leader at cultural bases that have been created to confront the enemy’s cultural confrontation, cultural invasion and soft war.

The most important and fundamental points, the details, and intricacies, in a way that truly applies to the field of action and implementation, are discussed in these speeches. Those who engage in the field of culture are people of precision and attention, and with a little of this attention, in every topic and sentence of this text, they find valuable and necessary lessons for their own cultural activities and their organization.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran can be a partner of choice for Arab allies of U.S.. With the U.S. withdrawing militarily from the region, Iran is best positioned to become the fulcrum of any security cooperation between the countries of the West Asia region.

After long decades of military domination over the region, the military imperium of the U.S. in the region is on the decline. The U.S.’s declining military presence in the region is best evidenced in the disorderly withdrawal from Afghanistan which invoked another Saigon moment has created anxiety and concern in many capitals in the region.

U.S. allies in the region, particularly the Arab states of the Persian Gulf region, have been looking at alternative options to secure their security in the post-American era.

A series of events taking place over the last few years and months have reinforced the belief that the Arab allies of the U.S. may one day wake up to the news that the U.S. has withdrawn its military assets from the Persian Gulf region just as it did with Afghanistan.

The Afghan withdrawal is one such event. The Biden administration carried out a chaotic and disorderly withdrawal from Afghanistan that led to the rise of the Taliban, the very same group the U.S. fought against for two decades.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has recently described the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan as “escape,” calling it a prelude to America’s withdrawal from other countries in the region.

“Look at the situation of the U.S. They fled from Afghanistan in that way. And in Iraq, they were forced to pretend that they had intended to withdraw their forces – of course, our Iraqi brothers should pursue this matter vigilantly. They were forced to announce that from now on, they will only play an ‘advisory’ role. In other words, they are acknowledging that they will not and cannot have a military presence there anymore. You should also look at the status of the U.S. in Yemen and Lebanon,” the Leader said.

General Frank McKenzie, the outgoing commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), has confirmed in a private meeting that “Iran is still pursuing a strategic objective of ejecting the United States” from the region, the Tehran Times has learned.

The scene of Afghans clinging to and then falling from a U.S. airplane taking off from the crowded runway of Kabul’s airport aroused concerns among the Arab states of the Persian Gulf.

A growing sense of abandonment is taking root in the Persian Gulf, prompting Arab leaders to mull options for alliances for the post-American region.

With the U.S. leaving the region, a unique opportunity comes along for the countries of the region to establish better relations based on cooperation.

Iran is the best option for the Arab states to work with after the U.S. withdrawal. These countries can secure their countries by taking advantage of Iran’s vast military capabilities. This is possible if Arab states of the Persian Gulf shed their inhibitions and patch up their relations with Iran.

On the other hand, Iran has repeatedly expressed interest in closer cooperation with its Arab neighbors, which seems to be discovering the potential of Iran in various spheres.

In McKenzie’s words, Iran has gotten “overmatch” – a level of capability in which a country has weaponry that makes it extremely difficult to check or defeat. “Iran’s strategic capacity is now enormous,” McKenzie said according to the New Yorker. “They’ve got overmatch in the theatre—the ability to overwhelm.”

The American general repeated this assessment in the private meeting, telling participants that Iran’s ballistic missile force has given it “an overmatch ability” in the region. McKenzie described the missile force as “the crown jewel” of Iran’s military capability that is “very, very highly” valued by Iran.

In his detailed assessment of Iran’s military capabilities, McKenzie admitted in the meeting that “over the last five years” the military capabilities of Iran have “significantly” changed. “Their ability to build and deploy ballistic missiles to theatre depth is significant, and those missiles are accurate,” McKenzie admittedly said.

He then described how accurate the Iranian missile strike was against Ain al-Assad airbase. “When they stuck our base at al-Assad, they hit within tens of meters of their target. The only reason we didn’t take more casualties was because we had the ability to redeploy before they took that strike,” the American general said wryly.

He described Iran’s missile force and land attack cruise missiles as well as drones as “new capabilities in the Iranian basket of weapons.”

Interestingly, McKenzie pointed to the resounding failure of U.S. economic pressures in preventing the development of Iran’s military capabilities.

“I don’t think you’re gonna force a fundamental change in the Iranian policy through economic sanctions. That’s just not the view I have. Look over the last five years, we’ve applied withering economic sanctions to Iran. And they have built a first-rate ballistic missile force while those sanctions have been in place,” McKenzie pointed out.

The remarks are in stark contrast to what McKenzie has been saying during his tenure as the commander of CENTCOM which directly deals with Iran’s sphere of influence. McKenzie, a holdover from the Trump administration, is one of the Iran hawks in the U.S. military.

McKenzie’s duplicity is not limited to his assessment of Iran’s growing military capabilities. He also revealed the truth about a motto undeservedly used by STRATCOM: Peace is our profession.

McKenzie said this motto has nothing to do with the responsibilities of CENTCOM.

“I always have discussion with STRATCOM about the motto ‘peace is our profession’ and I challenge that. Actually, I think in CENTCOM, we are not saying peace is our profession; rather the ability to deliver powerful combat effects when the United States needs. It is the nature of our profession,” McKenzie said.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran said half a century after Israel’s arson attack on the Al-Aqsa Mosque, “the innocent Palestine” is still burning in the fire of Israeli incursion and some Arab rulers’ treason.

“Today is the World Mosque Day. It’s been 51 years since Zionist extremists set fire to Al-Aqsa Mosque – the first qibla of Muslim people, a common heritage of human beings, and a symbol of unity among all monotheistic religions,” said Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh, Press TV reported.

“The innocent Palestine is still burning in the fire of the Zionist regime’s impudence and incursion and the treason of certain Arab rulers,” he added in a Friday tweet.

The tweet was issued on the 51st anniversary of Zionist extremists’ arson attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque.

On August 21, 1969, the mosque was set on fire by an Australian settler in coordination with Israeli officials and military forces. The fire gutted the southeastern wing of the mosque.

The World Mosque Day has now turned into an annual occasion when Muslims around the world highlight the importance of Al-Aqsa Mosque as the third holiest site of Muslim world.

This year, a controversial deal between the United Arab Emirates and the Israeli regime to normalize their bilateral relationships has outraged Muslims around the world.

Last week, Israel and the UAE announced in a joint statement, issued by the White House, that they had agreed to the full normalization of relations, sparking anger among Palestinians and supporters of the Palestinian cause against Israeli occupation.

As a result of the deal, which is what Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman referred to as “treason”, anger is boiling in the Middle East and elsewhere, with Palestinian leaders describing it as a “stab in the back” by an Arab country.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, on Tuesday, railed against the United Arab Emirates – which long portrayed itself as an advocate of the Palestinian cause – for stabbing the Palestinian nation in the back by making peace with Israel, warning other Arab countries not to follow in Abu Dhabi’s footsteps.

Abbas reminded the Arab countries that based on the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative any Israeli normalization should come after an agreement is reached between the Palestinians and Tel Aviv, and not the other way around.

“Some countries have begun moving, both openly and in secret…this is rejected, and we the Palestinians will continue to absolutely reject this, no matter which country does this. You must respect the decisions on which you have signed off,” he said.

The anti-Iran accusations raised in the final statement of the Arab quartet’s ministerial meeting is ill-founded, baseless, delusive and offensive, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi said on Friday.

In a Wednesday statement published on the Foreign Ministry’s official website, Qassemi said the statement issued on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in the U.S., carried out by elements from Arab countries, was a blame-game and fruitless effort to divert the attention of the world’s public opinion away from the U.S. warmongering and years-long support for terrorism and terrorist groups.

The spokesman went on to say that the committee members issued the statement at a time when their destructive war on Yemen has resulted in an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.

“The war has not only destroyed basic infrastructure in Yemen but also left millions of innocent people starving, ill and impoverished,” he said.

Under such circumstances, he said, the aggressors, indifferent to their crimes and amid the silence of international groups and bodies, are insisting on their catastrophic mistakes and expanding the extent of this unprecedented crime by the virtue of the support provided by certain extra-regional states.

Qassemi said Tehran has always attached huge importance to the security and stability of its neighbors, and adopted a policy based on mutual trust and respect, seeking a stable environment along its borders.

The spokesman noted Iran has never put meddling in the internal affairs of other states on its agenda and unlike the claims raised in the statement, the Islamic Republic has stood by the regional states at their request amid terrible situation.

“We maintain that the accusations levelled and the claims raised in the statement are mainly built on unfounded and unrealistic Iranophobic illusions and policies dictated by others to the Arab states,” he said.

He finally advised the Arab League members to abandon such “doomed tactics and approaches” and give constructive responses to the attempts made and initiatives put forward by the Islamic Republic to hold regional dialogue and cooperation.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that some Arab countries have aligned with the United States and Zionist regime and are far from the goals and concerns of the Islamic world.

Speaking in an extraordinary OIC (Organization of Islamic Conference) summit, held in Turkish capital Istanbul on Friday, to study the latest developments in Palestine, Zarif strongly condemned crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the oppressed Palestinian people in Gaza Strip and US Embassy move to al-Quds (Jerusalem) and said, “such critical situation indicates that some Arab states are heavily dependent on the US.”

Instead of supporting the inalienable right of the oppressed people of Palestine, it is regrettable that some Arab countries have cooperated with the Zionist regime and the United States and have put Hezbollah Resistance Movement in Lebanon in the list of terrorist groups, Zarif observed.

He called on the leaders of Islamic world and international community to prevent crimes committed by the Zionist regime against Palestinians shortly after the US support of the Zionist regime in relocation of its embassy from Tel Aviv to al-Quds.

The voices of objection being heard from some Arab countries show that the Muslim world is united against the US and the Israel’s moves, and a few dependent countries cannot represent the 1.5-billion strong Muslim world, Zarif said.

Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif arrived in Turkish capital Istanbul today morning for participating in extraordinary OIC summit in order to support Palestine and study the latest developments in the occupied lands and territories.

Given the above issue, thawing ties of some Arab countries with the Zionist regime will incur irreparable damage to the Islamic World in the current situation, he reiterated.

Amir-Abdollahian made the above remark in his meeting with two heads of political parties in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

He pointed to the longstanding positive relationship between Iran and Republic of Azerbaijan and said, “the relations between Islamic Republic of Iran and Republic of Azerbaijan are influenced by the longstanding and age-old historical ties of the two countries. The two nations share many commonalities in various fields.”

He also referred to the negative role of the Zionist regime in creating discord among the countries of the Islamic World and stated, “religion has always played an important role in determining regional power and security.”

Amir-Abdollahian said that some Arab countries have normalized their ties with the Zionist regime, the issue of which can incur irreparable damage to these countries.

The heads of political parties of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who had participated in marking the glorious victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution (Ten-Day Dawn ceremonies) stated, “the relationship between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Republic of Azerbaijan has been laid out based on brotherhood with several historical and cultural commonalities, so that this amicable relationship between the two countries will be perpetual.”

Solidarity, unity and amity between Islamic countries are inevitable to solve problems facing Islamic world in the contemporary world of today, they said, adding, “today, Islamic world is facing critical problems. Under such circumstances, there is no way except strengthening constructive relationship among Islamic countries to solve pertinent problems.”

The Alliance of Palestinian Forces which is composed of several Palestinian political factions underlined that describing Hezbollah as terrorist by the Arab League serves the interests of the Zionist regime of Israel and the US and satisfies Saudi Arabia.

According to the Lebanon’s Arabic-language Al Mayadeen TV network, the Alliance of Palestinian Forces also described the Arab League statement against Hezbollah as dangerous.

The Alliance of Palestinian Forces stressed that Lebanese Hezbollah movement is the most important resistance force against Israel and terrorism.

Saudi Arabia has ramped up its campaign against Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement and tried to persuade most of the 22 member states of the Arab League to condemn Hezbollah, as a terrorist organization.

The Arab League foreign ministers had gathered at the League’s headquarters in Cairo Sunday for an emergency meeting called by Saudi Arabia.

The Arab League has lashed out at the US for vetoing a UN Security Council (UNSC) resolution which called for annulment of Washington’s controversial recognition of Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel’s capital.

On Tuesday, Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit expressed discontent over the US veto against the draft, saying the measure will lead to isolation of the US.

Abul Gheit noted that using the veto right against other 14 UNSC member states reveals Washington’s flagrant defiance of a clear international consensus over the issue.

He said the Arab countries will present the draft resolution to the United Nations General Assembly under the article 377, “Uniting for Peace,” to make it mandatory for all member states.

Under the Uniting for Peace resolution, if the permanent members of the UN Security Council fail to take the required actions to maintain international peace and security due to a lack of unanimity, the General Assembly should immediately consider the matter and issue the necessary recommendations.

On Monday, US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley vetoed a UN Security Council’s resolution which called for annulment of Trump’s controversial decision regarding Jerusalem al-Quds.

US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley attends a Security Council meeting on Jerusalem al-Quds crisis on December 18, 2017. (AFP)

Fourteen members of the 15-member council voted in favor of the Egyptian-drafted resolution, which did not specifically name the US or US President Donald Trump but expressed “deep regret at recent decisions concerning the status of Jerusalem” al-Quds, while US Ambassador Nikki Haley wielded Washington’s veto against the call.

Hezbollah slams US bullying

Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement also condemned the US “bullying” at the Security Council, calling it a “slap” in the face of the global community.

In a statement on Tuesday, Hezbollah called on the global community not to surrender to the US policies and urged the Palestinians to continue their “successful uprising.”

On December 6, Trump announced his decision to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel’s capital and relocate the US embassy in occupied lands from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem al-Quds.

The dramatic shift in Washington’s Jerusalem al-Quds policy drew fierce criticism from the international community, including the United States’ Western allies, and triggered demonstrations against the US and Israel worldwide.

Jerusalem al-Quds remains at the core of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with Palestinians hoping that the eastern part of the city would eventually serve as the capital of a future independent Palestinian state.
