TEHRAN (Iran News) –Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a weekly cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Amirabdollahian hailed Palestinian resistance group Hamas for approving a proposal, within the framework of its principles, for a ceasefire in Gaza put forward by Egypt and Qatar.

He said he thought “everything will be available for a sustainable ceasefire” in Gaza and the settlement of conflict if the Americans and other Westerners fulfill their promise and honor, in the true sense, the truce in the current stage.

“According to an unwritten agreement with the Western parties, we concentrated on a ceasefire in Gaza. The Westerners told us that they would move in that direction. Today, positive impacts have arisen in this regard,” Amirabdollahian said, IRNA reported.

He also took a swipe at the Israeli regime’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and a few other extremists for making every effort to prolong the war, saying they are aware that a ceasefire in Gaza could translate into a new crisis inside the occupied territories.

The Israeli regime has rejected an Egyptian-Qatari ceasefire proposal for Gaza and launched an operation in Rafah, raising fears that the war in Gaza could drag on.

At least 34,789 people have been killed and 78,204 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7, 2023.

TEHRAN (Iran News) –November 2 is the 106th anniversary of the release of British Foreign Secretary Arthur James Balfour’s infamous declaration.

What’s now known as simply the Balfour Declaration, was a short text that changed the lives of not only Palestinians but millions of people in West Asia. It has brought about disastrous consequences such as the formation of a fake aggressive regime, massacre of hundreds of thousands of women and children, displacement of millions of Palestinian citizens and their expulsion from their homeland, and ultimately the occupation of Palestine.

This wicked declaration paved the way for the formation of a cancerous and illegitimate tumor in West Asia with consequences still affecting the people of the region and Palestine after nearly 80 years. The public statement might have been the focus of discussion during the Iranian and British foreign minsters’ phone call on November 3, with the Iranian chief diplomat possibly bringing to the Briton’s attention that his country’s support for the establishment of a “national home for the Jewish people in Palestine” in 1917 is the root of every challenge and distress in West Asia today.

The Zionists, who have been enjoying the support of their Anglo-Saxon godfathers to promote pseudo-history and impose oppression, are now facing an unprecedented crisis in West Asia.
The awakening and resistance of the Palestinians has opened the eyes of people worldwide to the Zionists’ atrocities and genocide. So, it is a good opportunity to re-read the Balfour Declaration in order to find out more about the dimensions of the 1948 Nakba.

As stated before, the Balfour Declaration voices England’s sympathy with the wishes and aspirations of international Zionism to establish the so-called national homeland of Zionism in Palestine.

The statement was issued in the midst of the First World War, and 21 years before Europeans proceeded to once again thump international peace in a second widespread fight. Now, knowing how Hitler ended up killing masses of Jewish people, it seems likely that Britain and its Zionist comrades were well aware of what was awaiting the Jews in WWII.

The rightful presence of Zionists in the Holy Land has been formed based on two distorted and false historical narratives: the first narrative is that in the Jewish Bible, this land was promised to them (Zionists) and the second narrative claims the killing and genocide of the Jews by the Nazis during the Second World War.

These two narratives, especially the second one, have sent a large number of Jews to Palestine and paved the way for the occupation and destruction of the Arab country.

Three years after the release of the Balfour Declaration and in the treaties that were signed by the victorious countries of the First World War, the fate of the Holy Land of Palestine was handed over to Britain, and Balfour’s promise to the Zionists was carried out.

It would be of great naivety to believe that all this was merely a coincidence.

Palestinian lands were handed over to Zionists by Britain, disregardful of the fact that Palestinians, who are in fact the real descendants of the primary Jews, had been living there for thousands of years.
All throughout the illegitimate life of the child-killing occupation regime, Western governments have been putting their propaganda apparatus to use to play the blame game and portray the oppressor as the oppressed.

The Zionists have committed massive and endless crimes without being held accountable. Anytime and anywhere a protest is staged to defend Palestine, Zionists trumpet the “anti-Semitism” slogan.
After the launch of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm by Hamas on October 7, supporters of the Tel Aviv regime once again came forward to manipulate the truth, while equipping and encouraging Israel.

The task that was once on the shoulders of England was transferred to the U.S. after the end of World War II and the rise of the country in the international system.

The unconditional support of the U.S. and UK for the Zionist regime has been the main reason for the failures of the UN Security Council to acknowledge the rights of Palestinians.

By vetoing 45 resolutions, the United States has not only opposed any halt to the Zionist regime’s crimes in Gaza but also refused to help reach a solution to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in the besieged territory.

In a clear conflict with its false claims about human rights, the United States also voted against the resolution that was drafted to help Gazans.

The U.S. effort to back Zionists further showed its support for the war crimes committed in the Gaza Strip.

It is crystal clear that the latest actions of the U.S. exemplify its ignorance towards basic human rights principles.

The point is that the fake regime, though supported for years by Britain and the U.S., is unable to stand on its own feet.

Undoubtedly, the future is for Palestine.

TEHRAN (Iran News) –The Iranian foreign minister has highlighted the Islamic Republic’s policy of consolidating neighborly relations and its remarkable achievements in the fight against terrorism, saying Iran has proved to be a reliable partner in the West Asia region.

Hossein Amirabdollahian made the remarks in an address to the Foreign Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in the Republic of Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku.

Amir\bdollahian pointed to the recent global developments and challenges, urging NAM to assume a more proactive role in realizing the objectives of this international forum.

“Our main goal should be to strengthen the rule of law and justice in the world because the origin of most crises and wars lies in the gross and widespread violation of the law and disregard for values,” the Iranian foreign minister said.

Stressing that the resolution of regional problems is possible only with the cooperation of the countries in the region, he said, “At the regional level, the Islamic Republic of Iran has proven to be a reliable partner.”

The top Iranian diplomat touched on the country’s exemplary cooperation in fighting terrorism and the sacrifice of Iranian forces in countering the Takfiri Daesh terrorist group in the region, including in Iraq and Syria, saying Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani was the “great hero” of the fight against terrorism.

The top Iranian diplomat also lauded the success of Iran’s neighborly policy in promoting greater convergence in the region. “We are determined to continue the development of relations in all fields and cooperation with all the neighbors and countries across the world.”

In his speech, Amirabdollahian raised concerns about the threat posed by Israel’s weapons of mass destruction to regional and global peace and security.

He also condemned the systematic violence against Palestinians by the regime and expressed dismay over the tragic loss of innocent Palestinian women and children, the destruction of their homes, and the desecration of holy sites, including the holy al-Aqsa Mosque.

“We strongly condemn the recent barbaric attacks by the Zionist regime against innocent Palestinians in Jenin and call on the international community to react decisively and quickly against this fake and occupying regime and its hostile actions,” he said.

The top Iranian diplomat warned that normalization of relations with Israel by some countries has led to the destabilization of the region, while disregarding the values and aspirations of the Palestinian people and the Muslim world.

Amirabdollahian added, “The military aggression of the fake Israeli regime in the region, including against Syria, Lebanon and the Palestinians, must end immediately.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, Amirabdollahian pointed to the situation in Ukraine and Caucasus, and underscored the necessity of ending the conflict through a political solution.

He further said Iran firmly believes in the potential for peaceful resolution of the disputes in the South Caucasus region.

“Today, in my meeting with Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the honorable president of Azerbaijan, I found out that Azerbaijan is seeking to remove the blockage on transportation lines in the region based on the trilateral agreement between Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Amirabdollahian added.

“This is an issue that the president strongly emphasized, and of course, the issue of peaceful settlement of disputes in the South Caucasus without changing the borders is always underlined by the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he added.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to facilitate the realization of this goal by using its capacities.”

Amirabdollahian also said the Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns the “desecratory, norm-breaking, politically-directed and provocative act” of insulting the Holy Qur’an in Sweden.

“Given the desire of some European governments to officially uphold the establishment of such illegitimate procedures in support of battling Islam and xenophobia, we emphasize that the Non-Aligned Movement must strongly condemn this illegitimate and inhuman act in the strongest terms and at the highest possible level,” the Iranian foreign minister stated.

NAM, the largest grouping of countries outside of the UN with 120 member states, is an important role player in global and multilateral affairs.

TEHRAN (Iran News) –CAPE Town, South Africa– “The Islamic Republic of Iran, along with other like-minded and interested countries, can be a reliable partner for BRICS in future,” Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian told the Friends of BRICS Foreign Ministers Meeting in Cape Town, South Africa, on Friday.

The current members of BRICS are the five emerging economies of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

Iran is among of the countries that aspires to join the economic bloc.

Following is the text of Amir Abdollahian’s speech at the conference:

In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Your Excellency Dr. Pandor,

The Honorable Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa

I am very delighted today to attend the Friends of BRICS Foreign Ministers Meeting in the beautiful city of Cape Town. I would like to express gratitude to the friendly Government of South Africa for the warm hospitality extended to me and the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran. I would also like to thank the BRICS countries for this initiative to invite Friends of BRICS to this Meeting.

Ladies and Gentlemen

The “Friends of BRICS” are genuinely “Friends of Cooperation and Partnership”; and indeed they are “Friends of Multilateralism”. The Islamic Republic of Iran is among the pioneers of multilateralism. Our bilateral political and economic relations with the BRICS countries remain at a very good level while our trade value exceeds 30 billion dollars. There are very important multilateral cooperation arrangements to which Iran and some of the BRICS countries are members. We will soon expand our relations with three BRICs countries; namely Russia, China and India within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of India and the Republic of South Africa are the active members of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) and are cooperating in various economic sectors. Moreover, the Islamic Republic of Iran, China, India, Brazil and South Africa are among like-minded and active members of the group of developing countries called G-77.

For the Islamic Republic of Iran, BRICS can be the next significant target of our multilateralism policy. This is why we are among the first states that have officially declared interest to join BRICS and its frameworks of cooperation. The large number of countries that are now interested in BRICS membership is an indication that we have made the right choice.

The combined capabilities and its serious efforts to rectify some asymmetries in the international system and strengthen multilateralism have secured an important position for BRICS in the global relations and interactions. Such a position would certainly be further enhanced if other regional like-minded powers join the Group. An extended BRICS can come up with successful patterns such as “Collective and Inclusive Governance”, “New South-South Cooperation” and “Coalition of Emerging Economies”.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, along with other like-minded and interested countries, can be a reliable partner for BRICS in future. Having a rich experience of active participation in international bodies and initiatives; abundant energy resources; short and cost-effective transport and transit networks; educated and skillful human workforce; eye-catching scientific and technological achievements; and above all, strong dedication and determination for contribution into a fair world order, the Islamic Republic of Iran can become an important partner for BRICS.

Of course, the goals and objectives of the Islamic Republic of Iran are so much aligned with those of BRICS that we have already started to explore ways and means of cooperation and partnership with BRICS. We will soon organize a conference in Tehran through coordination with the embassies of BRICS countries to elaborate on existing potentials and capacities of cooperation between Iran and BRICS. I would like to take the opportunity to invite all the BRICS countries to participate in the Tehran conference.

Madam Chair, Distinguished Participants

Once again, I would like to express my pleasure for participating in this meeting. I wish you all the best and success.

I thank you for your attention.

TEHRAN (Iran News) –Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said on Thursday that Iran will not recognize the Taliban and that the Islamic Republic insists on an inclusive government in Afghanistan.

“We will not recognize the current rulers of Afghanistan and insist on the need to establish an inclusive government in Afghanistan,” Amir Abdollahian told an annual gathering of Iranian diplomats in the shrine of Imam Khomeini.

He added, “The Taliban is part of the reality of Afghanistan but not all of Afghanistan.”

“Afghanistan is an important issue for us. We are unpleased that an inclusive government has not been formed in Afghanistan and we have announced this to the current rulers of Afghanistan,” the foreign minister explained.

The foreign minister went on to say that Iran has long borders with Afghanistan and “there is no option other than interaction between the two countries.”

Amir Abdollahian also said Iran does not like an incident similar to the one that happened in Mazar-i-Sharif in late 1990s to emerge again.

On August 8, 1998, Taliban forces captured Mazar-i-Sharif and killed 11 Iranian diplomats and a journalist.

The sporadic clashes that have happened in border areas during the past months are a “source of concern,” the foreign minister pointed out.

“We want to help the process of realizing peace and security in Afghanistan and in return see reciprocal expectations from the current rulers of Afghanistan,” he noted.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the foreign minister said Iran is “unhappy that girls and women” in Afghanistan have been denied to study school and university and considers such a behavior “in opposition to the teachings of the holy prophet of Islam.”

The minister also pointed to Iran’s water rights from the Helmand River and said Iran has held talks with officials of Afghanistan in this regard and “we believe that this issue should be investigated in a legal framework based on the 1973 treaty.”

Based on the 1973 treaty Iran should annually receive 820 million cubic meters of water from the Helmand River.

Afghanistan has redirected the course of the river and built dams on its path. Hassan Kazemi Qomi, Tehran’s special envoy for Afghanistan, has said Iran just receives 4 percent of the water.

The move has caused the Hamoun wetland in the border province of Sistan-Baluchestan province to dry up. The lives of a large percentage of the people in the neighborhood is dependent on the river. It is a source of drinking water and irrigation. The livelihood of fishermen is also dependent on the lake.

Amir Abdollahian said the issue of Iran’s water rights will not be resolved through declaration of “political statements.”

TEHRAN (Iran News) –Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian says Iran attaches great significance to further expansion of its economic cooperation with Asian partners.

The ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Economic Cooperation Organization, foreign envoys to Iran and political personalities and figures.

In the beginning, Amirabdollahian seized this opportunity, on the behalf of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to congratulate the 30th anniversary of the expansion of the Organization to the respected nations and governments of the member states of the Organization and the Secretary-General of ECO.

Undoubtedly, the accession of seven new countries in 1992 is considered an important milestone in the history of the Organization, he said, adding that ECO has a special position for the Islamic Republic of Iran as one of the founding countries of the Organization.

Deepening and expanding economic cooperation with neighbors, countries in the region and Asian countries is one of the priorities of economic diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Amirabdollahian emphasized.

“Multilateral and regional organizations such as ECO enjoy an important role in [the implementation of] this strategy,” he added.

“Deepening and expanding economic cooperation with neighbors, the regional countries, and Asian countries is among the priorities of the Iranian government’s diplomacy,” the top diplomat said in Tehran.

Amirabdollahian was addressing the 30th anniversary of expansion of the intergovernmental Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in 1992, which saw the body being joined by Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

“Multilateral and regional organizations such as ECO enjoy an important role in [the implementation of] this strategy,” he added.

Iran seizes upon whatever opportunity it can to “reinforce convergence” within the organization, the minister noted.

“Fortunately, there is consensus among all of ECO’s member states about the organization’s active and passive capacities for economic cooperation and convergence,” Amirabdollahian noted, calling the capacities “commendable, remarkable, and effective.”

The Tehran-headquartered ECO was established by the Islamic Republic, Pakistan, and Turkey in 1985.

The main purpose of the organization is to promote economic, technical, and cultural cooperation among the member states.

Amirabdollahian noted that the member countries’ economies performed synergistically concerning energy resources, skillful workforce, transportation networks, and food security as well as technological and innovative collaboration.

“This, together with common cultural, religious, and civilizational roots,” he added, “has led to an increasingly brighter outlook for cooperation” among the organization’s constituents.

TEHRAN (Iran News) –The conspiracy that aimed to create a terrorist war and eventually break apart Iran failed, Hossein Amirabdollahian, the Iranian foreign minister said in his second press conference in Tehran on Wednesday.

Addressing a number of journalists from Iranian and foreign media in the presser, Amirabdollahian said that a foreign conspiracy to instigate a civil war and finally divide Iran has failed.

He said that there are documents for the plot which show that the enemies sought to ignite a civil and terrorist war with the final goal of dividing Iran.

The foreign minister said that the western countries fomented riots in the country by deceiving a group of youths while they also armed terrorists in the neighboring Iraqi Kurdistan region.

He said that in talks with the Iraqi side, they promised to secure their borders in the Kurdistan region by the deployment of Iraqi troops at shared borders with Iran but that has not been done yet.

“As long as there is a threat to us from a neighboring country within the framework of international law and the UN Charter, our armed forces will continue their actions to ensure the maximum national security of the country. We in the diplomatic and security apparatus of the country will continue the talks with the Iraqi authorities to get over this stage,” the top Iranian diplomat said.

He also pointed out that the West with its negative human rights record is in no position to talk about Iran’s human rights situation.

“The fact that more than 50 policemen and our security forces were martyred by rioters with firearms and rocks, and several thousand policemen and our security defenders were injured, is a sign of respect for human rights and showing restraint by Iran’s police and security forces [during the riots],” Amirabdollahian continued.

He pointed out that riots and newly-imposed sanctions were aimed at pressuring Iran to give up its demands at the talks but the Americans must have now realized that Iran does not cross its red lines.

Amirabdollahian further said that Iran wants to continue nuclear talks to revive the JCPOA and remove the sanctions to maximize the Iranian nation’s interests with might.

As regards the accusations on Iran’s military assistance to Russian for use in the Ukraine war, he said that Iran delivered a few drones to Russia 11 months before the start of the Ukraine war, underlining that the Ukrainian side has not given any evidence that those drones were used in the war by Russia.

The foreign minister said that “we disagree with the American side on three issues” while the three European countries are mediating between Iran and Washington on those issues.

He added that the top EU diplomats, Josep Borrell and Enrique Mora, “are trying to find a solution in this field. One of these issues is solving the remaining issues with the nuclear agency, and the other issue is related to economic guarantees, and we tried to formulate this issue.”

He added that the final text to reach an agreement in the JCPOA talks must be stronger and include those three issues.

Amirabdollahian added, “The third thing is that in line with the economic guarantee, the game played by the western parties and the extension of sanctions to third parties is the reason for the continuation of the sanctions, with an agreed mechanism, they should be eliminated.”

“Security talks have been held between Turkish and Syrian authorities,” he added on the Middle East issues.

He also said that the 25-year strategic partnership between Iran and China entered the implementation phase last year, adding “The President’s trip to China is on the agenda.”

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Forerign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has warned the United States against using the language of force when addressing the Iranian nation.

Amirabdollahian made the remarks in a late Saturday tweet in apparent reaction to recent accusations leveled against Iran by the US about a fictional plot to kill the former President Donald Trump’s national security advisor John Bolton.

“History ought to have taught the U.S. that language of threat against Iran and Iranians achieves nothing,” Iran’s top diplomat tweeted.

He added, “Futile attempts at deflection won’t allow the U.S. to evade responsibility for the thousands of Iranian and other victims of its involvement in terrorist crimes in our region.”

History ought to have taught the U.S. that language of threat against Iran and Iranians achieves nothing.

Futile attempts at deflection won’t allow the US to evade responsibility for the thousands of Iranian and other victims of its involvement in terrorist crimes in our region.

The U.S. Department of Justice on Wednesday charged a man identified as Shahram Poursafi with trying to arrange the killing of Bolton in retaliation for the January 2020 U.S. airstrike that martyred Iran’s legendary anti-terror commander Lieutenant Gen. Qasem Soleimani.

In the latest scenario, Poursafi has been cited as a member of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps who attempted to pay individuals in the United States in October 2021 a reward of $300,000 to carry out the plot in either Washington, DC, or Maryland.

Iran has brushed aside the “baseless fiction” of the U.S. government, accusing an Iranian national of plotting to assassinate former President Donald Trump’s notorious national security advisor John Bolton.

Sanctions against Iran can be lifted soon: Russian envoy

Meanwhile according to a Russian diplomat sanctions against Iran can be lifted soon, referring to the talks in Vienna for a possible return of the United States to the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.

Permanent Representative of Russia to International Organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov said in a tweet on Sunday that sanctions against Iran can be lifted soon.

He wrote the tweet in response to a Twitter user who asked him if the West would finally decide to lift the sanctions against Iran, Russia, and other countries.

“I can’t say the same about anti-Russian #sanctions,” Ulyanov wrote, adding that anti-Russian sanctions are only partially associated with Ukraine.

“The West perceives independent policy of Russia as a strategic challenge and will hardly abandon the practice of sanctions,” he said.

Iran and the P4+1 recently resumed talks in Vienna, with indirect participation of the US, to finalize an agreement to revive the 2015 nuclear deal based on a proposal from the EU.
