]]> TEHRAN (Iran News) – Former Esteghlal coach Alireza Mansourian reached an agreement to take charge of Tractor football team.

Tractor has parted company with Saket Elhami and reportedly reached the final agreement with Mansourian.

The Tabriz-based football team had negotiated with Ali Daei and Farhad Majidi too.

Mansourian has not coached a team since parting ways with Zob Ahan in December 2019.

The 48-year-old trainer started his coaching career in 2009 as Pas Hamedan coach and has headed Iran U-23, Naft Tehran and Esteghlal since then.

Tractor will participate at the next year’s AFC Champions League play-offs qualification as champion of Iran’s Hazfi Cup.

]]> TEHRAN (Iran News) – Ex-Iran midfielder Alireza Mansourian strongly denied he has reached an agreement to take charge of Esteghlal.

Media reports have suggested that the ex-Esteghlal coach will replace Farhad Majidi in the Iranian team.

Majidi has announced that he would leave Esteghlal after the Hazfi Cup final scheduled for Thursday.

Mansourian headed Esteghlal in 2016-17 season in the Iran Professional League before taking charge of Zob Ahan.

Alireza Mansourian’s team got off to a dream start at the neutral venue of United Arab Emirates’ Zabeel Stadium.

Zob Ahan captain Ghasem Haddadifar opened the goal with a curling left-footed strike from outside the area.

Just two minutes later, Luis Jimenez equalized the match after a cross from the right was deflected onto the bar and the ball fell to the ex-Chile international and he made no mistake in poking home on the rebound for a debut goal.

In the 72nd minute, Al Ittihad defender Ziyad Al-Sahafi sent a powerful header into the back of the Zob Ahan’s net to win the tie.

On Aug. 12, Zob Ahan will host Al Ittihad in Doha’s Grand Hamad Stadium.

]]> Sepahan football team has shown interest in hiring former Esteghlal coach Alireza Mansourian as new coach, according to Iranian local media reports.

Mansourian has not coached any team after parting company with Esteghlal in September and local media reports suggest that he is a candidate to take charge of Sepahan.

Yahya Golmohammadi, who has been dismissed as his coaching role in Tractor Sazi Tabriz, and former Zob Ahan coach Mansour Ebrahimzadeh are also among the candidates to coach the Isfahan-based football team.

Sepahan sacked Croatian football coach Zlatko Kranjcar on Saturday following poor results in Iran Professional League.

Karim Ghanbari has been named as Sepahan’s interim coach.

Sepahan sits 12th in Iran Professional League, just seven points above the relegation zone.
