TEHRAN (Iran News) Responding to Trump’s war rhetoric against Iran during an event on Sunday, General Mousavi said the remarks of a president, who claims to represent a superpower, are not worthy of a head of state and are reckless.

The top commander continued by asking the question as why does Trump talk about negotiations If he intends to go to war, in a rebuke to the US president’s renewed military threat under the guise of Iran’s nuclear program.

General Mousavi warned, however, that entering into a conflict with Iran would lead to consequences that would prevent Trump from repeating such rhetoric anywhere in the world.

As Iran and the US negotiators recently resumed talks on nuclear and sanctions removal issues in Oman, Trump threatened Iran with strikes if a deal was not reached between Tehran and Washington.

Iran has repeatedly warned the United States, and its regional allies of grave consequences for any military mischief, saying the Islamic Republic is prepared to inflict more crushing defeats on aggressors.

TEHRAN (Iran News) Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, the chairman of the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces emphasized that Iran has proven to the world that it has never initiated war, and said that Iran considers diplomacy and negotiation to be the best way to solve problems.

Major General Mousavi made the remarks in a meeting with Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tesivilev in Tehran on Thursday.

During the meeting, Major General Mousavi hailed Russia’s firm positions at the UN and IAEA during the recent 12-day imposed Israeli war.

Mousavi highlighted Russia’s “very firm and solid” stance at the United Nations and the International Atomic Energy Agency regarding the Israeli regime’s recent attacks on Iran.

He stressed that Iran has never been the initiator of war and that diplomacy remains the nation’s preferred approach for resolving disputes.

“The enemy used negotiations as a cover for deceit, ultimately initiating an imposed war against Iran. However, our armed forces responded decisively and powerfully to the United States and Israel,” Mousavi said.

Minister Tsivilev expressed condolences over the loss of Iranian commanders and scientists in Israeli attacks and voiced full support for enhancing joint commissions to strengthen cooperation. “Top commander”

Both officials underscored the urgent need for Iran and Russia to elevate their economic and defense collaborations to the highest levels, particularly in the context of severe Western sanctions.

“In a period that we witness cooperation of America with terrorist groups, withdrawal of foreigners from the region and continuation and boosting of cooperation among committed countries, especially in West Asia, are essential and will guarantee regional and global peace and security,” reads the message.

The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to cooperate with armies of all committed countries for ensuring the security of West Asia and establish peace across the world, he said.

Enjoying experiences of eight years of the imposed war, the Army has reached a significant point in its defensive power and is able to safeguard the security of any region through cooperation with armies of other countries, he said, adding, realities of regional and global developments point to the necessity of increased relations between committed countries for countering US and Israeli regimes’ hostile actions.

America and the Israeli regime are the main culprits of tensions in West Asia, he said, adding, “The Islamic Republic of Iran has no choice but to take steps in the path of enhancing its defensive might.”

America’s opposition to Iran’s defensive programs comes as it is exporting huge amounts of arms to the region and making threats against Iran, noted Mousavi.

On Sept. 10, John Bolton, the national security advisor to Donald Trump, made a harsh attack against the International Court of Justice (ICC), calling it “illegitimate” and a body that it is “dead” for the U.S.

Established in 2002 under the Rome Statute, the ICC is the world’s first permanent court established to prosecute war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

The threat by Bolton comes as the Hague-based body has said the U.S. armed forces and the CIA might have committed war crimes in Afghanistan, and the Palestinian Authority has asked the ICC chief prosecutor to open an investigation into alleged Israeli war crimes, crimes against humanity, and apartheid.

Bolton appeared so boorish that he said the U.S. will impose sanctions against the ICC and, where possible, prosecute its officials if it proceeds with launching investigations. He also threatened to impose the same sanctions on any country that aided the international court in its investigations.

The announcement showed that the Trump administration feels no shame to say that that the U.S. and Israel are exception and above the law.

In view of Bolton it is “self-defense” that Israeli snipers kill hundreds of people attending weekly peaceful protests in Gaza.

“We will not allow the ICC or any other organization to constrain Israel’s right to self-defense,” Bolton said in his speech to the Federalist Society in Washington.

The attack on the ICC is in line with the Trump administration’s unilateralism and hatred of international bodies, international law, and the international legal order. The new policy announcement is only one in a chain of shocking and odd behaviors by the Trump administration.

According to the doctrine adopted by the Trump administration, certain countries close to the U.S. should feel free to commit war crimes.

“If the court comes after us, Israel or other U.S. allies, we will not sit quietly,” Bolton asserted.

“Other U.S. allies” that Bolton refers to are no countries except Saudi Arabia and the UAE which are committing war crimes in Yemen and the most concrete example of their crime was the targeting of a school bus on August 9 with a 227 kilogram laser-guided MK 82 bomb made by Lockheed Martin.

The remaining U.S. allies, especially those in Europe even if they can still be considered Washington’s allies, have been involved in no war in the recent decades which their action could be subject to investigation by the ICC.

David Scheffer, who established the ICC on behalf of the U.S. and served as the country’s ambassador-at-large for war crimes issues, said, “The Bolton speech today isolates the United States from international criminal justice and severely undermines our leadership in bringing perpetrators of atrocity crimes to justice elsewhere in the world.”

Liz Evenson, associate international justice director at Human Rights Watch, told AFP news agency that Bolton had shown “callous disregard for victims of atrocity crimes” and that the U.S. was “more concerned with coddling serial rights abusers… than supporting impartial justice”.

The illegal and rash policies by the Trump administration, ranging from its rebuke to international treaties like the Paris climate agreement, its withdrawal from the binding Iran nuclear pact, moving its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in an open violation of the rights of Palestinians and its recent harsh attacks on the ICC signal nothing less than legal and political suicide by Washington and its consequent isolation in the world.

Speaking on Monday morning on the sidelines of his visit from the salient achievements of the Foundation to Safeguard and Preserve Sacred Defense Works and Values in the Islamic Revolution and Sacred Defense Museum, he pointed to the transparent support of US President Donald Trump over Iran’s recent chaos and turmoil in the country and added, “however, US government has left no stone unturned before and after the Islamic Revolution to mar the true image of Islamic Iran in the global level.”

US government resorts to any means in order to overthrow and topple Iranian government, he said and reiterated, “relying upon the assistance of the Almighty God, Iranian government under its wise leadership has thwarted conspiracies waged by US government against Iran.”

During forty years since the glorious victory of the Islamic Revolution, Iranian government has foiled US plots sowed in this country.

In conclusion, the commander pointed to the subjects of Sacred Defense and emphasized, “paying due attention to these issues can show the depth of hostility of US government against Islamic Iran which can empower us to overcome upcoming problems successfully.”
