TEHRAN (Iran News) – U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders has been steadily climbing in popularity this year and is now tied with former Vice President Joe Biden for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination among registered voters, according to a Reuters/Ipsos national poll.

The online poll, released Thursday, shows that 20% of registered Democrats and independents said they would back Bernie Sanders over 11 other candidates, including Biden, to run in the general election against President Donald Trump, an increase of 2 percentage points from a similar poll that ran last week.

Another 19% supported Biden, 12% said they would vote for Senator Elizabeth Warren, 9% backed former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and 6% said they would support Pete Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana.

Bernie Sanders and Bloomberg have increased their level of support in each of the last three Reuters/Ipsos polls starting in mid-December, while support for Biden, Warren, and Buttigieg has remained flat.

The poll also shows that about one in five potential primary voters remains undecided. And among those who have picked, nearly two out of three say they are open to changing their minds.

Sanders, an independent who built a national network of fervent supporters while running for the party’s nomination in 2016, has consistently ranked among the most popular candidates since he entered the race.

The poll shows that standing does not appear to have been hurt by his recent confrontation with Warren over Sanders’ views of women and politics.

Warren, who is aligned with Sanders on a variety of issues, has accused him of telling her in 2018 that a woman could not be elected president. Sanders disputes that claim, and the two sniped at each other after this week’s presidential debate about how they were framing the conversation in public.

The dispute has the potential to reconfigure a Democratic nomination race that has stagnated for months with no single candidate emerging as the clear front-runner.

According to Reuters/Ipsos polling from December to January, women are the party’s biggest swing group: they are more than twice as likely as men to say they are undecided about which candidate to support. Among those women who have picked a candidate, nearly two out of three say they are open to changing their minds.

So far, Sanders’ and Warren’s support remains unchanged among women, with about 15% supporting Sanders and 11% supporting Warren.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll was conducted in English throughout the United States from Jan. 15-16. It gathered responses from 681 Democrats and independents, including 552 who were registered to vote. The poll has a credibility interval, a measure of precision, of about 5 percentage points.

The poll clearly reveals that in U.S. 2020 presidential elections, Trump will almost certainly lose against democratic front-runner, Joe Biden.

The internal poll was conducted by Donald Trump’s own reelection campaign and the results were published in ABC news.

The internal polling showed that Trump was far behind Joe Biden in key battleground states.

The data revealed Biden had a double-digit 55 percent to 39 percent lead in Pennsylvania, a 51-41 percent lead in Wisconsin and a 7 point lead in Florida. Trump was shown to be ahead by only 2 points in Texas, which has a strong Republican base.

This news is especially groundbreaking because Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Florida were the three key states where Trump beat Hillary Clinton in 2016 elections.

The poll was conducted between March 15 and March 28, but the results were published recently.

After the publication of these results, the top members of Trump presidential campaign claimed that the polls have been improved in favor of Trump since March.

However, the new poll taken by Quinnipiac University and other American organizations shows that he has lost even more state votes.

For example, the internal poll of Donald Trump’s reelection campaign showed that Trump was ahead of Biden by 2 points, but the more recent poll taken by Quinnipiac University revealed that he is now 4 points behind Biden.

In this poll, Biden secured 48 and Trump 44 percent of the whole votes.

The most important thing here is that in all these polls, American citizens were almost satisfied with their country’s economic situation over Trump’s presidency, but they were highly unhappy with his foreign policy.

In this situation, Trump has no way other than changing his current foreign policy that has turned into a losing game because of people like John Bolton and Mike Pompeo in his cabinet.

Trump is fully aware that if he doesn’t change his foreign policies, this would become his Achilles’ heel in 2020 presidential elections.

Now, it seems very easy to figure out what Trump’s policy will be toward Iran. He is trying to get out of the trouble he created for himself in the first place by abandoning U.S. nuclear deal with Iran and threatening Iran with putting sanctions on the country.

As CNN reported, Former Vice President Joe Biden’s announcement of a bid for the Democratic presidential nomination earned him an 11-point polling bounce, leaving him head and shoulders above the rest of the Democratic candidates.A new CNN poll conducted by SSRS after Biden’s announcement on Thursday shows 39% of voters who are Democrats or Democratic-leaning independents saying he is their top choice for the nomination, up from 28% who said the same in March. That puts Biden more than 20 points ahead of his nearest competitor, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont — who holds 15% support in the poll — and roughly 30 points ahead of the next strongest candidate, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (8%).

Warren ranks about evenly with South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg (7%), former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke (6%) and Sen. Kamala Harris of California (5%), who round out the list of those earning 5% or more in the poll. The remaining 17 candidates tested all held the support of 2% or less.

Biden’s surge in support solidifies his status as the front-runner in a race that now has 20 candidates in the Democratic field. Biden’s early campaign message has been centered around taking on President Donald Trump more directly rather than his Democratic counterparts — and the President has noticed, spending time attacking Biden repeatedly on Twitter and Fox News in recent days. Biden also has highlighted his close personal ties to former President Barack Obama, releasing a campaign video on Tuesday that interspersed images of his vice presidency with Obama’s remarks during his Medal of Freedom ceremony.

What is certain is that Biden and Trump will have no easy way to win the presidential election next year. Tramp is worried about losing votes in fatal states such as Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. Biden is worried about the inability to unite Democrat supporters in the upcoming presidential election. Many analysts believe that Biden and Biden’s direct debates on Biden’s and Trump’s direct debates can be very crucial if Biden comes to the final stage of the upcoming presidential election race. In these debates, Trump tries to focus on economic issues, while Biden will focus on US foreign policy issues.

Trump and Biden from now on consider each other as their rival in the next presidential election. Biden has now condemned Trump’s policies towards countries like China and criticized these policies and behaviors. Congressional Republicans are pushing back against White House hopeful Joe Biden after the former vice president dismissed the notion that the U.S. should be worried about China as a geopolitical competitor, writes the Washington Post.

“China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man,” said Biden at a campaign stop in Iowa City on Wednesday. Saying Beijing has its hands full dealing with its own domestic and regional problems, Biden said, “guess what? They’re not competition for us.” Republicans including Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah and Rep. Bradley Byrne of Alabama, who is running for Senate, rebuked Biden. “Joe is plain wrong. China is absolutely a threat,” said Byrne in a tweet. A Biden spokesman said the ex-vice president “believes it’s never a good bet to bet against America and the fundamental strength, resilience, and ingenuity of its people.”

Anyway, the competition between Trump and Biden has actually started now! The only thing that can change this equation is Biden’s defeat in the Democratic primaries. Of course, given the growth of Biden’s polls in polls, this is unlikely. Finally, in the coming weeks, more explicit statements by Biden and Trump are made against each other. This could lead to the creation of an early electoral space in the United States. The issue will continue until November 2020.
