TEHRAN (Iran News) Senior officers of the Pakistan Embassy, members of the Pakistani community, and a large number of Iranian media representatives participated in the event, reaffirming their moral and emotional bond with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

H.E. Muhammad Mudassir Tipu, Ambassador of Pakistan to Tehran, reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering and principled support for the Kashmiri cause and their inalienable right to determine their own future. He highlighted that the people of IIOJK have been enduring decades of Indian state-sponsored terrorism, military siege, and systematic violations of human rights and international humanitarian law.

Ambassador Tipu reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of Pakistan to continue extending political, moral, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri brothers and sisters until the realization of their right to self-determination. He called upon the international community, including the United Nations and other global organizations, to take concrete measures to end the ongoing oppression in IIOJK and to ensure that India abides by its international obligations and the UN Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir.

On the occasion, the messages of the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr. Asif Ali Zardari, and the Prime Minister, Mr. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, were read out. Both leaders reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to the Kashmir cause and paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people.

Speakers at the event strongly condemned the continuing atrocities perpetrated against the innocent people of Kashmir. A photo exhibition was also organized to shed light on the decades-long suffering of the Kashmiris and to expose the brutal use of force by the Indian authorities in the occupied region.

The event concluded with prayers for the martyrs of Kashmir and a renewed pledge by Pakistan and its people to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with their Kashmiri brethren until the realization of their legitimate right to self-determination.

Polish National Day Celebrated in Tehran

TEHRAN (Iran News) Speaking at a diplomatic gathering attended by ambassadors, foreign dignitaries, and members of the diplomatic corps, Mr. Wilczek highlighted the significance of the Constitution of May 3, 1791 — the first written constitution in modern Europe and the second in the world, following the United States Constitution of 1787. He described it as a cornerstone of Polish identity, emphasizing its role in sustaining the Polish spirit through 123 years of foreign partitions and decades of communist rule.

Mr. Wilczek underscored the unique historical relationship between Poland and Iran, noting that in 2024 the two nations celebrated the 550th anniversary of their diplomatic ties. He recalled that official contact dates back to 1474 when Shah Uzun Hassan sent a letter to the Polish King Casimir Jagiellonian via a Venetian envoy, with the first recorded Polish diplomatic mission to Persia taking place in 1602.

“Very few countries can trace their diplomatic history so far into the past,” Mr. Wilczek said, expressing optimism about the upcoming centenary of the 1927 Treaty of Friendship, which established formal legations in both Warsaw and Tehran.

In remarks touching on present-day diplomacy, Mr. Wilczek noted ongoing dialogue between Polish and Iranian foreign ministries, including recent high-level talks and condolences extended to Iranian officials following the tragic explosion in Bandar Abbas. As Poland currently holds the presidency of the EU Council, its embassy in Tehran is also representing the European Union in coordination with the European External Action Service.

Mr. Wilczek paid tribute to the hospitality extended by Iran to thousands of Poles evacuated from the Soviet Union in 1942, noting that around 120,000 Polish citizens found refuge in Iran during World War II — a gesture still deeply appreciated by Poles today.

Turning to contemporary geopolitical issues, Mr. Wilczek voiced strong support for Ukraine, condemning Russia’s invasion as “the most significant and immediate threat” to Poland and the European Union. “No state should support Russia’s illegal, unjustified, and unprovoked aggression,” he asserted, calling for a collective international response grounded in the UN Charter.

On the Middle East, Mr. Wilczek reiterated Poland’s longstanding support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He highlighted Poland’s early recognition of Palestinian statehood in 1988 and the establishment of a Polish diplomatic mission in Ramallah in 2005.

Welcoming the resumption of dialogue between Iran and the United States, Mr. Wilczek expressed hope that renewed talks would lead to a sustainable agreement beneficial to regional stability.

The address concluded on a forward-looking note, celebrating growing academic exchanges. Nearly 500 Iranian students are currently pursuing higher education in Poland, particularly in medicine, engineering, arts, and design. Mr. Wilczek emphasized their potential as future ambassadors of friendship between the two countries.

He also recognized the Polish community in Iran, offering best wishes in Polish and thanking them for serving as a cultural bridge.

“Your presence, your knowledge of both cultures and languages, makes you an important bridge between our nations,” he said.

The event ended with warm applause, reflecting the shared respect and longstanding camaraderie between the Polish and Iranian peoples.

Pakistan Rejects Indian Accusations Over Pahalgam Attack, Demands Independent Probe

TEHRAN (Iran News) Ambassador Tipu expressed Pakistan’s deep concern over the loss of innocent lives in the April 30 incident and reiterated his country’s firm stance against terrorism in all forms. “As a nation that has borne the brunt of terrorism, we grieve with the victims,” he said, extending condolences to the families affected.

However, he condemned what he described as India’s attempt to exploit the tragedy for political gains. “These accusations are not only unfounded but also part of a broader disinformation campaign aimed at deflecting attention from India’s own internal failures and repression in Kashmir,” Tipu stated.

The ambassador criticized the Indian media and political establishment for what he called “Islamophobic and inflammatory narratives” that further inflame tensions in the region. He warned that the escalation of such rhetoric was dragging South Asia toward instability.

Referring to international engagement, Tipu noted Pakistan’s constructive role in the United Nations Security Council, which issued a strong condemnation of the Pahalgam attack. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and restraint but cautioned that the country would not hesitate to defend its sovereignty if provoked.

A significant point of contention raised during the briefing was India’s reported move to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT), a vital agreement governing water sharing between the two countries. Ambassador Tipu described the action as “illegal and reckless,” warning that any attempt to alter Pakistan’s water share would be seen as an act of war.

“Such a move endangers millions of livelihoods in Pakistan and undermines a key pillar of regional cooperation,” he said.

Calling for an independent and impartial investigation into the Pahalgam incident, the ambassador stressed that Pakistan had no involvement and no motive. “This situation demands a neutral inquiry, not hasty blame games,” he asserted.

He urged the international community to differentiate between sympathy for victims and support for India’s aggressive posture. “Uncritical endorsement of Indian claims risks legitimizing dangerous brinkmanship in a nuclear-armed region,” Tipu cautioned.

The ambassador’s remarks come amid heightened tensions between the two neighbors, with Islamabad warning of serious consequences if India continues to escalate the situation through rhetoric and unilateral actions.

Malaysian Embassy in Tehran Hosts “Durian Reception” to Promote the King of Fruits

TEHRAN (Iran News) Malaysia’s Ambassador to Iran, H.E. Khairi Omer, welcomed attendees with a warm speech that celebrated the Musang King durian as more than just a fruit but a symbol of Malaysia’s agricultural ingenuity and culinary excellence.

“Selamat Datang, Khosh Amadid, and welcome to an evening dedicated to a true treasure of Malaysia—the Musang King Durian. Tonight, we celebrate not just a fruit, but a legacy of innovation and excellence,” the ambassador remarked.

Known as the “King of Fruits,” the Musang King durian is renowned for its creamy texture, bittersweet flavor, and distinctive golden-yellow flesh. The event spotlighted its status as a premium export, with the ambassador emphasizing Malaysia’s commitment to promoting fresh, high-quality durian to international markets.

As part of his address, Ambassador Omer shared fascinating insights about the Musang King’s unique qualities and its journey from Malaysia’s orchards to tables worldwide.

The Musang King, or Raja Kunyit, is prized for its distinctive appearance, featuring a star-shaped base and pyramid-like spikes. Its mild, refined aroma makes it an accessible choice for both seasoned durian lovers and newcomers. With global markets like China referring to it as the “Hermes of Durians,” the fruit has become a symbol of prestige and luxury, commanding prices as high as $105 per piece.

The ambassador also highlighted Malaysia’s leadership in durian cultivation. Over 73,000 hectares of land are dedicated to durian farming, with Musang King accounting for 36% of total production. In 2022 alone, Malaysia exported RM1.14 billion worth of durian, with China contributing RM887 million to that figure.

In a significant milestone for Malaysia-China trade relations, the ambassador noted that Malaysia began exporting fresh, non-frozen durians to China in 2024. The inaugural shipment included 20 tonnes of premium varieties, signaling growing international demand for Malaysian durians.

The event also highlighted the durian’s versatility in cuisine. Guests sampled dishes and desserts made from Musang King durian, including ice cream, cakes, and even savory dishes like curries, showcasing the fruit’s adaptability and culinary appeal.

The reception served as an opportunity to delve into the Musang King’s cultural and scientific importance. First discovered in the 1980s in Gua Musang, Kelantan, the fruit was officially registered in Malaysia’s national crop registry as “D197” in 1993. Its reputation has since skyrocketed, solidifying its position as one of the world’s most sought-after durian varieties.

The event also touched on the scientific breakthroughs surrounding the durian. In 2017, researchers successfully sequenced the genome of the Musang King, unlocking insights into the genes responsible for its signature aroma and flavor.

As the evening concluded, Ambassador Omer reflected on the cultural and economic significance of the Musang King durian.

“This extraordinary fruit stands as a testament to Malaysia’s vibrant culture, our dedication to quality, and our warm hospitality. It is a bridge that connects tradition with innovation and brings people together across borders,” he said.

The “Durian Reception” was more than a celebration of a beloved fruit—it was a showcase of Malaysia’s agricultural excellence, a testament to its global outreach, and a reminder of the shared joy that food can bring.

With increasing demand and continued innovation in durian cultivation, Malaysia remains at the forefront of the global durian market. Events like the “Durian Reception” not only promote this iconic fruit but also strengthen international ties and foster appreciation for Malaysia’s unique contributions to global cuisine.

As guests left the reception, many carried with them not only the taste of the Musang King durian but also a deeper understanding of the stories and traditions it embodies—a true representation of Malaysia’s rich heritage and global vision.

The Contradictory Path of the PTM

TEHRAN (Iran News) The Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) has gained notoriety for its inflammatory rhetoric and controversial activities, which have sparked widespread debate within Pakistan and beyond. While the movement claims to champion the rights of the Pashtun people, a closer analysis of their actions reveals a deeply deceptive narrative, often inciting rebellion against state institutions. This discourse would be deemed unacceptable even in the most liberal Western democracies. The PTM’s provocative narrative not only undermines national security efforts but also threatens the fragile peace within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the merged tribal districts.

At the core of the PTM’s message lies a narrative that questions the legitimacy and actions of Pakistan’s security forces. The movement frequently accuses the state of being responsible for terrorism and targeted killings in the region. These allegations, however, are not substantiated with credible evidence and serve to delegitimize the sacrifices made by security personnel who have fought to restore peace and combat terrorism. By inciting mistrust against the military, the PTM disregards the state’s ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks that once plagued the region.

In most democratic countries, including those in the West, calls for insurrection against national security forces are met with legal action. The PTM’s provocative discourse not only pushes the boundaries of free speech but also fosters unrest among local communities. Rather than addressing the root causes of underdevelopment or offering constructive solutions, the movement’s inflammatory rhetoric misleads the youth, diverting their energy from productive pursuits to destructive agendas.

While the PTM presents itself as a peaceful grassroots movement, internal conflicts and rivalries within its ranks tell a different story. These power struggles have led to violent outcomes, undermining the movement’s claim to pacifism. Notable examples include the killing of Gilaman Wazir, reportedly due to personal enmity, and the murder of Arif Wazir by his cousin Ali Wazir over a personal dispute. Such incidents expose the volatile nature of the PTM’s internal dynamics and reflect the lack of unity and coherent leadership within the organization.

These violent disputes also reveal that the PTM’s leaders are often more focused on personal vendettas and political ambitions than on genuine social reform. The movement’s failure to manage internal discord reflects a deeper issue: its inability to provide a credible and constructive vision for the Pashtun community. This disunity further alienates the broader population, diminishing the PTM’s influence and social support.

Despite presenting itself as an advocate for human rights, the PTM has resorted to undemocratic practices, including hate speech and ethnic bias. Its rhetoric often vilifies the state and security forces, fostering a divisive narrative that isolates Pashtuns from the rest of Pakistan. This manipulation of ethnic sentiments exacerbates social tensions and obstructs national unity. Rather than promoting inclusivity, the PTM’s discourse creates a toxic environment that perpetuates resentment and mistrust.

Moreover, the PTM’s reluctance to condemn acts of terrorism committed by extremist elements, such as the banned group Fitna-al-Khawarij, further exposes the contradictions in its claims of pacifism. While the movement demands accountability from the state, it remains silent on the atrocities committed by such extremist factions, raising questions about its commitment to peace and justice.

The PTM’s activities align disturbingly with the agenda of extremist groups like Fitna-al-Khawarij, which seek to destabilize the region through violence and unrest. The movement’s rhetoric, which incites rebellion and undermines state authority, serves the interests of these banned outfits by creating an environment conducive to chaos.

This alignment poses a significant threat to the safety of innocent citizens, who become collateral damage in the struggle between the state and extremist elements.

It is essential to recognize that the PTM’s actions are not just a challenge to the state but also a betrayal of the Pashtun people’s interests. By provoking unrest, the movement jeopardizes the region’s development and obstructs efforts to improve the quality of life for its inhabitants. The PTM’s leaders, including Manzoor Pashteen, Mohsin Dawar, and Ali Wazir, appear more interested in pursuing personal political gains than in addressing the real issues faced by the community.

Pakistan’s security forces remain steadfast in their commitment to eliminating terrorism and restoring peace in the region. Their efforts, supported by the sacrifices of soldiers and civilians alike, have paved the way for a safer and more stable future. It is imperative that the youth of the region channel their energies into constructive pursuits that contribute to national development rather than becoming pawns in violent political games.

The people of Pakistan, including the Pashtun community, must reject divisive narratives that sow discord and undermine the state’s efforts to combat terrorism. Instead, they should focus on fostering unity and cooperation, recognizing that the fight against extremism is a shared responsibility. The path to progress lies in dialogue, development, and a collective commitment to peace.

The deceptive discourse of the PTM serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by movements that manipulate ethnic sentiments and incite violence under the guise of social activism. While the movement claims to advocate for human rights, its actions reveal a pattern of undemocratic practices, hate speech, and alliances with extremist elements. The state’s resolve to combat terrorism remains unshaken, and with the support of the public, the menace of extremism and its enablers will be eradicated.

Pakistan stands at a crucial juncture in its fight against terrorism, and the unity of its people is essential to overcome the challenges ahead. The nation must reject divisive narratives and reaffirm its commitment to peace, progress, and national unity. With courage and determination, the people of Pakistan will continue to resist the forces of terror and build a brighter future for generations to come.

Embassy of Pakistan and University of Tehran Commemorate Iqbal Day

TEHRAN (Iran News) Dr. Abdul Raza Saif, Dean of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities, presided over the event, welcoming esteemed guests and emphasizing the significance of Iqbal’s contributions to Islamic thought and philosophy.

Ambassador Tipu expressed his admiration for the Iranian people’s enduring reverence for Iqbal. He noted that Iqbal, a timeless poet and philosopher, wrote much of his work in Persian, inspiring countless Muslims in the subcontinent with a vision of independence and dignity. The Ambassador highlighted how Rahbar-e-Inqilab Ayatollah Khamenei’s deep appreciation of Iqbal’s work—having committed 2,000 of Iqbal’s verses to memory—resonates profoundly within Pakistan’s literary circles. Iqbal’s universal and metaphysical philosophy, embodied in his concepts of Khudi (selfhood), Shaheen (eagle), and his devotion to Prophet Muhammad, remains unparalleled. In today’s globalized world, where cultural identities often blur, Iqbal’s message serves as a guiding light, encouraging us to stay rooted in our cultural heritage and values. Known as the “Poet of the East,” Iqbal’s poetry encapsulates the essence of Eastern civilizations, including Iran, the Arab world, Turkey, and Pakistan.

The event featured a documentary, Poet of the East, which offered insights into Iqbal’s life and legacy. Students recited verses in both Urdu and Persian to honor this great poet, philosopher, and thinker. An exhibition showcasing rare photographs of Iqbal’s life and career was also held at the University of Tehran. The ceremony was attended by a large gathering of students, scholars, and members of the Pakistani diaspora.

TEHRAN (Iran News) The event was a celebration of taste, culture, and connection, drawing local food enthusiasts, members of the diplomatic community, and curious newcomers, all eager for a taste of Malaysia’s diverse culinary traditions.

The evening began with starters that hinted at the depth of Malaysia’s flavors: Curry Noodles, with its fragrant coconut base, offered a gentle spice, while Karipuff, a delicate pastry filled with spiced potatoes, brought warmth to the autumn evening. Chef Hamidah binti Dapi, from the Embassy of Malaysia, infused each dish with authentic techniques and flavors. The main courses, Beef Dendeng (a tender, marinated beef dish), Nasi Goreng, and Chicken Satay, all beautifully showcased Malaysia’s unique blend of spices and textures.

Ambassador Khairi bin Omar expressed his hope that the event would spark greater interest in cultural and culinary collaborations. “I am hopeful that this exchange will inspire further opportunities, whether in tourism, culinary arts, or business ties,” he said. “We’re also exploring ways to facilitate easier travel between Malaysia and Iran, strengthening the connections we already share.”

Flavours of Malaysia also opened its doors to the public, allowing locals to purchase tickets for a chance to experience the event. Among the diverse crowd were food lovers and diplomats, all united by a love of rich, flavorful cuisine and the joy of discovering new cultures. Many attendees lingered long after their meals, savoring the dishes and discussing travel dreams to Malaysia’s tropical landscapes and bustling city markets.

The Embassy of Malaysia is optimistic that Flavours of Malaysia will pave the way for future collaborations, and perhaps even spark a newfound passion for Malaysian cuisine in Tehran’s vibrant dining scene. This initiative highlights how culinary diplomacy can bridge cultural divides, allowing each dish to tell a story and each flavor to inspire a deeper understanding between nations.

For Iranians who missed this weekend’s event, it was clear from the buzz in the room that this may be just the beginning of Malaysian gastronomy’s influence in Iran. As guests left Nakaya with satisfied smiles and lingering flavors on their palates, the stage was set for a flavorful future, where diplomacy tastes as good as it feels.
