U.S., Its Allies in Mideast Main Violators of Human Rights
TEHRAN - Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Seyed Ebrahim Raeisi yesterday said that U.S. and its allies in the Middle East are the main violators of the human rights as one can see in cases of Palestine and Yemen.

He made the remarks in meeting with a number of foreign ambassadors, chargé d’affaires and representatives from different international bodies.

“Today, the right of Palestinians is being continuously violated and data shows that some seven million Palestinians have been displaced,” Ayatollah Raeisi said, adding, “Iran believes that all people who belong to Palestine should take part in a free referendum to determine their government.”

He went on to say that the Saudi regime is the biggest human rights’ violator in the region, and despite formation of queues for executions in the regime, Washington still supports Riyadh. Saudi Arabia has been recognized as a war criminal state by many human rights institutions and recently their war in Yemen has claimed lives of some 60,000 Yemenis, however, the United States still backs the Saudi regime, he lamented.

Today those who are accused of violating human rights have become claimants of the same rights, he noted.

He went on to say that while Iran is accused of violating the human rights, it is victim of terrorist acts of terrorist grouplets like MKO who have killed over 17,000 people and the group has been delisted by the U.S. from the list of terrorist groups.

He also blamed the unilateral U.S. sanctions over Iranians and called it an economic terrorism against Iranian nation, reiterating that the U.S. even hindered sending humanitarian aids for the flood-stricken victims in Iran.

Meanwhile on a live TV program on Sunday night, Raeisi said all Iranian officials in every branch of power must report in detail on their financial interests.

He said the Expediency Council has ratified a bill that forces the disclosures of assets of public officials.

He said all Iranian officials, including lawmakers, the Judiciary’s judges, and all managers in the administration are required to report all their assets and properties.

The Judiciary has set up a system for registration of assets of officials, the top judge said, adding that he will be the first person to report to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and also to the public on his own assets.
