TEHRAN – Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani congratulated his Nicaraguan counterpart on the country’s 196th anniversary of independence.
In a message to Daniel Ortega Saavedra on Friday, President Rouhani extended congratulations to the government and nation of Nicaragua on the Central American country’s Independence Day.
The president expressed the hope that Tehran-Managua friendly and brotherly relations would develop day by day in all fields.
He further wished success for the Nicaraguan president and prosperity for the Latin American nation and government.
Nicaragua declared independence from Spain on September 15, 1821.
The promotion of ties with Latin American countries has been among the top priorities of the Islamic Republic’s foreign policy over the past decades.
