TEHRAN – Representative of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states and some diplomats on Saturday visited Bank Melli Iran Museum and inspected this historic national heritage.

According to reports, Head of ECO Cultural Institute, accompanied by representatives from its member states as well as diplomats from Norway, Finland, Germany, India, Turkey, Austria, Belgium and UK embassies paid a visit to the museum where they inspected historic heritage of Iran especially in banking sector like coins, miniatures, carpets and paintings and documents related to the biggest banking deals.
During the visit, the CEO of Bank Melli Dr. Mohammad Reza Hosseinzadeh, accompanied by the bank’s officials, said that the bank is working to ease trade affairs for merchants and businessmen of different countries.
He went on to say that it is the bank’s task to bring traders and businessmen closer together in order that they can easily trade and continue their economic interactions easily.
Hosseinzadeh went on to say that Bank Melli Iran has more than 3,350 branches in the country and it has banking relation and brokerage with 20 countries and enjoys good economic cooperation with European, Asian and African countries.
He reiterated that the bank is doing its best to expand trade relations by employing all potentials of the bank in line with supporting national cultural heritage as well as boosting cultural ties.
Head of ECO Cultural Institute Mr. Mohammad Mazaheri thanked the BMI for hosting representatives of the ECO, adding that today museums play a key role in safeguarding culture and civilization as well as developing culture of tourism, in another words, they act as the mirror for reflecting the identities of the nations.
He also underlined the role of museums in cultural and economic developments of the countries and announced the institute’s full support for any program which helps the relations of nations be strengthened.
Mazaheri said museums are very useful for expanding cultural and public diplomacy.
He also praised the BMI for its great hospitality. Later the visitors inspected the museum and went to the MBI Zourkhaneh where they got familiar with this traditional wrestling.
They also paid a visit to the Sardar Asaad Bakhtiari Building of the museum.
