Moscow is interested in reviving dialogue with the European Union, Russian president’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.

He noted that Russia is building bilateral cooperation with both EU nations individually and with the entire European Union, dialogue with which “is now in a rather frozen state” not through Russia’s fault.

“But, naturally, it is in our interests to revive the Russia-EU dialogue. We hope sooner or later political wisdom in Brussels will find its way in its long corridors and the process will be revived,” he stressed.

According to the Kremlin spokesman, Russia would not like to see any problems the European Union, which is its key economic partner. “We want to have predictable, economically developing space west of our borders,” he said, TASS news agency reported.

“No one can say now what Brexit’s impact could be for the European Union and the United Kingdom,” Peskov said. “I would not exaggerate the threat looming over the European Union. It is a powerful integration association and this integration is very stable.”

However, in his words, the current processes of the breakdown of key economic principle will impact all.
