Chief of the General Staff of Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, voiced hope that Syrian army could take the last steps on fighting terrorists much firmer and that Syrian people would soon see an end to the presence of terrorists in their country.
“I hope that the Syrian Army would undertake the last steps of fighting terrorists much firmer than before, and that Syrian people will witness the exit of terrorists from Syria in the near future,” said Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Iranian senior commander made the remarks on Thursday in a telephone conversation with Ali Abdullah Ayyoub who has been recently appointed as Syria’s minister of defense and formerly served as the country’s chief of the General Staff.
The two generals discussed the latest developments in the battlefields of fight against terrorists in Syria and the Syrian commander recounted that the terrorists have been consecutively losing grounds.
The Iranian commander, for his part, felicitated the Syrian general for the latest victories and voiced hope that the Syrians would also see the withdrawal of all foreign forces who are illegally present in Syria.
Expressing hope for the immediate return of the Syrian refugees to their homes, Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri underlined that the process of reconstruction should be launched soon to revive economic activities in Syrian cities.
The Syrian commander, for his part, appreciated all the help and support offered by the Islamic Republic of Iran, and invited Gen. Bagheri for an official visit to Syria
