Gunmen killed an Iranian soldier in Baneh County, Kurdistan province on the border with Iraqi Kurdistan.
Colonel Alireza Kurdlu, the Commander of Choman border regiment, told Iranian media on Wednesday that a border guard called Armin Fakhri was martyred by gun shots while he was on duty in a watchtower belonging to Iranian border guards in Baneh County, Kurdistan Province.
Colonel Kurdlu said that the fallen soldier was from Kermanshah Province, adding that investigation is underway to capture the perpetrators.
He also said Fakhri’s body will be transferred to Kermanshah to be buried there after a commemoration ceremony in Baneh to pay respect to him.
