Kimia Alizadeh, the first Iranian woman to win an Olympic medal, will bear the flag of Islamic Republic of Iran at the opening ceremony of 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Kimia Alizadeh has been selected by Iran’s National Olympic Committee to be Iran’s flag-bearer at the opening ceremony of the 18th Asian Games, also known as Jakarta Palembang 2018, which will open on August 18.
The 19-year-old taekwondoka, Kimia Alizadeh made headlines at 2016 Rio Games by becoming the first Iranian woman to win an Olympic medal.
Some 15,000 athletes from 45 Asian countries will participate in the completions.
