Casting doubt on the EU’s determination to secure Iran’s economic interests in the nuclear deal, the MPs in Iranian Parliament have called for reducing the level of cooperation with IAEA.

In a letter to the government of President Hassan Rouhani, 160 Iranian lawmakers have called for lowering level of relations with the International Atomic Energy Organization (the IAEA).

In the letter which was read aloud at the end of today’s Parliament session, the lawmakers have referred to the EU’s pragmatist approach to the JCPOA and cast doubt on the European countries’ real stance after the US withdrawal, calling on the government to put into practice the ‘Reciprocal and Proportional Action in Implementing the JCPOA Act and reduce the level of cooperation with the IAEA.

The MPs have also called on the government not to compromise on ‘Iranian nation’s rights’ and preserve the three principles, based on which that Iranian constitution is formed, and to preserve the Islamic revolutionary values as well as national interests.
