Road Minister: Airports damaged by Israeli aggression rebuilt in 10 days
TEHRAN (Iran News) Farzaneh Sadegh made the remarks at Jamaran Hussainiya in northern Tehran on Thursday during a ceremony renewing allegiance to the ideals of Imam Khomeini on the second day of Transport Week.
She highlighted the transport sector’s performance during the recent 12‑day war (June 13-24, 2025), noting that despite security threats and the presence of drones, there was a 50 percent increase in road exchanges and transfers, a 15 percent rise in rail operations, and a 60 percent increase in unloading essential goods at the country’s ports.
With Iran’s airspace closed and under strict management, damaged airports were restored in less than ten days, allowing the resumption of Hajj pilgrimages and Arbaeen journeys, Sadegh added.
On June 13, Israel launched an unprovoked aggression against Iran, triggering a 12‑day war that killed at least 1,064 people, including military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians. The United States also entered the war by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites in violation of international law.
On June 24, Iran, through retaliatory operations against both Israel and the US, managed to halt the assault.
