Qatar envoy hails ‘distinguished’ ties with Iran
TEHRAN (Iran News) Saad Abdullah Saad Al Mahmoud Al Shareef made the remarks during a ceremony hosted by the Qatari Embassy in the Iranian capital on Monday.
The event brought together a wide range of senior officials, economic figures, and members of foreign diplomatic missions. Qatar marks its National Day every year on 18 December, and similar celebrations are held by its embassies worldwide.
In his address, Al Mahmoud welcomed the guests and highlighted the foundations of bilateral ties.
“Qatar has important and distinguished relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and these relations are based on the principle of neighborliness, mutual respect and cooperation in all common fields,” he said.
He added that the successful trajectory of relations between the “two brotherly countries” demonstrates “the importance of constructive engagement in advancing development and prosperity across the region.”
The Qatari ambassador said Qatar and Iran, drawing on deep historical and popular bonds, “well understand the importance of developing joint cooperation, especially in the fields of trade, transport and energy, as well as economic and human partnerships,” which he noted serve the interests of both nations and reflect their longstanding cultural ties.
