Francesco, the Jinn
Francesco, the Jinn
The disaster that the JCPOA (Iran nuclear deal) created for the Iranian people, in terms of the damages inflicted, might perhaps be compared to the Treaty of Turkmenchay or the Treaty of Golestan. Although those treaties were imposed on Iran during the weakened Qajar period, the JCPOA was imposed during the era of the Islamic Republic’s power, with the coordination of some returned expatriates whose outward appearance of righteousness deceived the nation.

Francesco, the Jinn

TEHRAN (Iran News) The words “cancel” and “suspend” were suddenly inserted into this treaty by an apparently jinn-like individual named Francesco, and no one even raised an alarm. Consider the statements of Mohammad Javad Zarif:

Details of the matter: Mohammad Javad Zarif, in explanations about the final process of the JCPOA, said: On the last day of negotiations, a European individual named Francesco (with an Italian surname that Zarif does not exactly remember) suggested to the Iranian negotiating team that some changes be made in the annex text of the JCPOA. He, as a financial expert of the European Union, warned that if the word “cancel” were written in the JCPOA text for EU resolutions, on the day of the JCPOA’s implementation the EU would be forced to re-impose non-nuclear sanctions, which would not look “good.” Therefore, based on this recommendation, in several parts of the JCPOA text, the word “suspend” was accepted as a replacement for “cancel.” This change later became one of the controversial points of the JCPOA because the legal and political difference between “cancel” and “suspend” is very significant. Zarif only mentioned his first name, “Francesco,” and said his last name was Italian and somewhat unusual, but he did not remember it. Therefore, the publicly available information about him is limited, and he is mostly recognized as an employee or financial expert of the European Union, not a high-ranking official or political figure.

These statements are made in a context where, on social media, some concerned experts claim that the JCPOA text had been prepared months before the negotiations by the CIA and was no different from what was eventually signed as a disgraceful treaty.

In Islamic texts, it is stated that we do not have Sunni jinn; jinn are either infidels (non-believers) or Shia. Now we conclude that Francesco, whose identity is not clearly known, must certainly have been an infidel who did not respect the Shia nation of Iran. Now we must ask the negotiating team: what connection did he have with the infidel jinn that, in the end, they pulled the wool over their heads completely?
