Tehran Hosts Honoring Ceremony for Dr. Mohammadi Sohravardi
TEHRAN - A prestigious ceremony was held at the National Library of Iran on Tuesday to honor Dr. Ahmad Mohammadi Sohravardi, a distinguished jurist, scholar, linguist, and poet. The event, attended by over 600 prominent figures from academia, literature, calligraphy, and other sectors, celebrated his lifelong contributions to Iranian and global culture.

TEHRAN (Iran News) The ceremony featured speeches from notable scholars, including Dr. Saeed Omrani, Dr. Asghar Dadbeh, Dr. Ali Shams Ardakani, Master Ali Shirazi, Dr. Faramarz Shirvani, Engineer Pejman Alikhani, Master Mehdi Fallah, and Master Ali Ganji. Each speaker highlighted Dr. Sohravardi’s extensive impact across various disciplines, emphasizing his role in bridging the fields of law, literature, and linguistics.

Speaking to reporters, Dr. Sohravardi underscored the need for a broader, international approach to cultural heritage.

“To globalize our heritage, we must speak the language of the world, embrace modern discourse, and engage in meaningful interactions,” he stated, stressing the role of interdisciplinary dialogue in shaping civilization.

A highlight of the event was a calligraphy exhibition dedicated to Dr. Sohravardi’s poetry. Ali Ganji, a master calligrapher and inspector of the Iranian Calligraphers Association, showcased 25 calligraphic pieces featuring diverse styles such as Naskh, Chalipa, and Siah Mashq. The exhibition was widely praised as one of the most notable calligraphy displays in recent years.

As part of the ceremony, the book “I Become Illumination”, a collection of Dr. Sohravardi’s poetry, was unveiled. Additionally, leading cultural figures and media professionals were recognized for their contributions.
