TEHRAN (Iran News) –Heading a delegation, the top Iranian diplomat is going to take part in the summit on May 4 and 5, which will be attended by heads of state and senior officials from the 57 member countries of the OIC and beyond.
Amirabdollahian is going to explicate Iran’s stances on the Muslim world issues as well as the regional and international developments in the conference.
The Iranian foreign minister will also hold meetings with a number of Muslim authorities on the sidelines of the summit.
The forthcoming summit will reportedly focus on efforts to “promote unity and solidarity through dialogue about sustainable development” and discuss the Islamic world’s pressing problems, particularly the crisis in Gaza.
The Gambia will assume the three-year chairmanship of the OIC after the summit.
The OIC is the second largest inter-governmental organization with 57 member states in four continents.
The OIC Islamic Summit takes policy decisions and provides guidance on all issues pertaining to the realization of its objectives as provided for by the OIC Charter.
