TEHRAN (Iran News) –The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) in Tehran province has attributed the country’s prevailing position in power dynamics to the sacrifices and resistance culture cultivated by martyrs.
In his address on Friday, Brig. Gen. Hassan Hassanzadeh extended felicitations on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Imam Ali and Father’s Day.
“The martyrs of Tehran, numbering over 24,000, hailed from diverse walks of life, including the president, prime minister, ministers, parliamentarians, professors, teachers, and students,” he remarked.
Providing further insights into the composition of Tehran’s martyrdom figures, Gen. Hassanzadeh highlighted the significant contributions made by students, traders, women, and clerics, who collectively accounted for 5,600, 2,500, 561, and 580 martyrs, respectively.
He underscored the significance of the statements of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution who said that commemorating the martyrs is akin to martyrdom.
“Remembrance of the martyrs signifies upholding the ideals and objectives they fought for,” the general asserted.
Concluding his remarks, the general affirmed that the nation’s power advantage is rooted in the “blessing of martyrs’ blood, the culture of sacrifice, perseverance, and resistance.”
He emphasized that as long as the nation embraces martyrdom as the epitome of life, it will continue to flourish.
