TEHRAN (Iran News) –Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) last week witnessed trade of 2,306,805 tons of commodities with a total trading value of almost $640m on its physical market.
According to a report by the IME’s International Affairs and PR, the exchange saw on its metals and minerals trading floor trade of 2,121,000 tons of commodities valued at more than $356m.
On this floor the IME sold 1,457,000 tons of cement, 352,687 tons of steel, 291,000 tons of iron ore, 18,500 tons of sponge iron, 930 tons of zinc, 7,600 tons of aluminum, 6,501 tons of copper, 150 tons of molybdenum concentrate, 30 tons of precious metals concentrate and 4 kg of gold bars.
Furthermore, the IME witnessed on both domestic and export rings of its oil and petrochemical trading floor 166,849 tons of commodities worth almost $153m.
Commodities traded on this floor included 87,750 tons of polymeric products, 4,000 tons of vacuum bottom, 1,000 tons of lube cut, 36,863 tons of chemicals, 600 tons of sulfur, 3,247 tons of base oil, 110 tons of feed gas, 33,207 tons of bitumen and 575 tons of insulation.
Based on this report, on the IME’s agricultural trading floor, customers purchased 2 tons of saffron.
The IME also traded within the same week 18,712 tons of commodities on its side market.
