TEHRAN (Iran News) – Embassy of Kazakhstan in Tehran held a reception at Parsian Azadi Hotel on Sunday to mark the 30th independence day of Republic of Kazakhstan.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan H.E. Askhat Orazbay hosted the reception where Iran’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture Jihad Mohammad Ghorbani and some of Iran’s Majlis and Foreign Ministry officials, foreign diplomats and media persons were also present.
The reception began with playing some music by some Iranian artists and then Kazakh Ambassador to Tehran H.E. Orazbay delivered a speech.
Addressing the guests, Mr. Orazbay expressed his thanks to the participants for joining them for marking this day together with Kazakh nationals in Tehran. He then said this day is a very important milestone symbolizing the rebirth of Kazakhstan statehood.
He went on to brief the audience of some major achievements of Kazakhstan since its independence day in the past three decades. He reiterated that since the early independence, Kazakhstan implemented economic reforms resulted in replacing the Soviet-type planned economy with a modern free-market economy fully integrated into the global trade-economic system.
Mr. Orazbay then said the country has so far attracted almost $380b of direct foreign investment, compromises over 75% of the whole amount of foreign invested by all Central Asian countries as Kazakhstan ranks first among all CIS states by net volume of foreign direct investment per capita.
He noted that Kazakhstan ranks 25th in the latest World Bank’s Doing Business report as the country is now among the top 50 developed countries and it eyes joining to the top 30 by modernization.
The diplomat then said today 130 various ethnicities in Kazakhstan peacefully live and coexist in one country. He then briefed the participants of the geographical location of Kazakhstan and its properties.
He reiterated that Kazakhstan is now best known for its contribution to the international security widely recognized by the UN and the international community.
He went on to say that in spite of economic difficulties, the country built from a scratch a new capital called now Nur-Sultan City and transformed it into a major center of international cooperation in Eurasia. He reiterated the country spent some $1b on development of the city despite the pandemic.
He then touched upon Kazakhstan’s ties with Iran and hailed Tehran and said Iran was among the first countries which recognized independence of Kazakhstan, He added Kazakhstan has never left Iran during the time of its hardship.
Orazbay also said that Iran and Kazakhstan have witnessed over two-fold growth in their trade exchange during the first nine months of 2021 compared with the preceding year.
Orazbay expressed hope that Kazakhstan president’s visit to Iran being planned for the nearest perspective to be preceded by the 17th meeting of the joint economic commission of the two countries.
Then Iranian officials addressed the ceremony and they hailed the relations with Kazakhstan and expressed hope the ties between Tehran and Nur-Sultan would get stronger.
