TEHRAN (Iran News) – Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade and Head of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO) says the country’s industrial exports have grown by 80 percent this year while the coronavirus pandemic had halted exports in different countries in the past year.
During a meeting to review the problems of the industrial units in the town of Khomein, Ali Rasoulian said despite all pressures because if the U.S.’s cruel unilateral sanctions and COVID-19 threats, last year industry sector in the country grew 8 percent and it can be said the achievement was the result of support from the domestic production, resistance economy and the growth of the domestic industries.
He further said that industrial parks is one of the honors of the Islamic Republic establishment and said the launch of the industrial parks was one of the prudent and wise actions of the country which has had a large number of fruits in the process of the industrial development of the country since 1983.
Rasoulian also stated that since the first day of the Islamic Republic, more than 828 industrial towns and region have been readied for handing over to the investors and economic activists to be established in the production units.
He added that over 47,500 production units are deployed in the industrial parks and areas of the country and around 950,000 people are busy in those units directly.
He reiterated that the year before last year, over 30b rials has been invested in the infrastructures of the industrial towns and areas of the country.
Rasoulian pointed to the supports to the small industries which has been tripled, adding that support from the production units will be directed to the export-centered and brand-centered.
He went on to say that attracting the foreign investment, export consortium, financing, educational courses, creating brands, opening offices abroad, participation in the overseas exhibitions and issuing guarantee letters are of the supports offered to the small industries which have become five-fold.
Rasoulian further said that the organization backs the participation of the private sectors in the industrial towns and areas because these parks should move in direction of being private industrial parks.
