TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iranian striker Ali Alipour put pen to a two-year contract – reportedly worth €800,000 – with the Primeira Liga side C.S. Maritimo.
Ex-Persepolis player will join his compatriot goalkeeper Amir Abedzadeh at the Portuguese club.
“I’m so excited to have signed to for Maritimo. It is going to be a new experience for me,” Alipour told Marítimo TV.
“I want to help the club achieve its objectives. I want to score a lot of goals.”
A former Rah Ahan striker, Alipour joined Persepolis in January 2015 where he went on to score 56 goals in 156 appearances for the club, helping the Iranian Reds to lift four consecutive Persian Gulf Pro League titles.
He scored 19 in the 2017-18 season to claim the Iranian league’s Golden Boot award.
The 25-year-old Iranian was also a part of the Persepolis team that reached the AFC Champions League final in 2018, only to lose to Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds.
Maritimo finished 11th in the 2019-20 season while three points in two games sees the club stand in the ninth spot of the current campaign.
