TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said his talks on August 2 with the foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were “substantive, frank and friendly.”
Earlier in the day, the Iranian foreign minister discussed issues of mutual interests as well as major regional developments in a video conference with Foreign Minister of the UAE Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Commenting on his talks with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Zarif wrote on his Twitter account, “Just had a substantive, frank and friendly video conference with UAE FM @ABZayed, discussing COVID as well as bilateral, regional and global situations.”
He added, “We agreed to continue the dialog on the theme of hope- especially as the region faces tough challenges and tougher choices ahead.”
During the video conference, the two discussed bilateral cooperation and issues of mutual interest voicing Tehran and Dubai’s readiness to develop all-out cooperation in various fields in line with common interests.
