Iran to Boost Defense Power Due to US Military Option
As long as the US officials speak of a military option against Iran and postpone their withdrawal from the region, Iran will spare no legitimate effort to strengthen its defense infrastructure relying on domestic capabilities.

TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi has said as long as the US officials speak of military option against Iran and postpone their withdrawal from the region, Iran will spare no legitimate effort to strengthen its defense infrastructure relying on domestic capabilities.

He made the remarks on Wednesday reacting to the statements made by US Special Representative for Iran, Brian Hook who had desperately tried on June 30, during a tour to regional states, to justify the issue of prolongation US arms embargo against Iran and using military options against the country, IRNA reported.

Condemning Hook’s remarks as “baseless and devoid of any value,” Mousavi said, “Military option is a moldy option gathering dust on the table of delusional presidents of the United States for years.

“The real threat to the region is the destructive and destabilizing presence of the US; turning it into a military base; and preventing its progress and development by intimidating regional states and sowing discord among them in order to easily sell products of the US military industry.”

According to Mousavi Hook made the remarks about Iran’s arms embargo at a time while US and some of its allies have hundreds of nuclear bombs and other weapons of mass destruction and have no cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency or other international institutions.

Even worse, he added, is that the US has turned the region into a gunpowder depot by selling advanced weapons and advanced equipment to certain countries, and most of those weapons are being used against the oppressed and homeless people of Yemen, Palestine, Iraq, Syria, and other nations.

Mousavi stressed, “Iran’s principled and stable policy is to ensure regional security by the countries of the region.”
