TEHRAN (Iran News) – Iranian First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri said that although the US sanctions have had impacts on Iran’s economy, Washington has failed to attain its goals through its sanctions policy.
Sanctions have harmed our economy but failed to make it collapse, Jahangiri said in Tehran on Saturday, reported Fars News Agency.
The government is trying to shoulder the pressures of the sanctions and remove them from the people, he added.
In relevant remarks, President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday that Iran has become famous for the handling of the coronavirus, adding that the nation has fought the disease better than countries that have faced no sanctions.
The great Iranian nation has tolerated many economic pressures due to sanctions since the beginning of the COVID-19 disease in the country, Rouhani said.
“Compared to countries that have not been facing sanctions during their combat against the coronavirus, Iranians’ persistence is well-known and will be recorded in history,” he added.
