According To Iran News, Uzbekistan will welcome active presence of Iranian business activists in the upcoming Tashkent International Investment Forum which will be held on March 5-6 at Tashkent City.

Speaking to reporters in a press briefing, Uzbekistan Ambassador to Tehran Mr. Bakhodir Abdullaev highlighted the significance of the biggest business event in Tashkent and even in the Central Asia, reiterating that his country expects active and massive presence of Iranian business activists in the event which can help the bilateral economic relations of Iran and Uzbekistan to improve.

He further said some 1500 economic activists, businessmen and major international companies are to attend the event which is held due to efforts of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He noted that Uzbekistan has witnessed significant progress economically due to new strategies of the government to boost national economy, adding that the average economic growth of the country in recent years has been between 5.4 to 5.6 percent and it is predicted the figure soars to 6 percent or more in 2020.

Mr. Abdullaev added that the economic progress has encouraged businessmen and investors in the world to rush to Uzbekistan for investment. He reiterated that the event will be a good opportunities for businessmen and investors to have detailed information about regulations for investment and business deals in Uzbekistan.

He went on to say that the forum will be held at the newly built Tashkent City which is one of the biggest trade centers of the country and has been built in recent three years. The event will be a good opportunity for participants to visit historic cities and cultural potentials of the country, he added.

Abdullaev also reiterated that Uzbekistan government expects Iranian businessmen to have active presence in the event because the country looks at Iran as one of the biggest economic powers in the region.

He said the event will cover different economic fields like transportation, energy, constructions and agriculture. He stated tourism and economic capacities of Uzbekistan will be introduced in the event and it will be a good opportunity for investors to evaluate the economic potentials of the country for investments and all regulations for investment.

Abdullaev further said Uzbekistan is today moving towards privatization and one of the objectives of the event is to allure foreign investors for investment. He said the event is the best opportunity for Iranian businessmen to meet and talk with their Uzbek partners.

He emphasized that the condition of business risk in Uzbekistan has improved and it has jumped 80 places in the global ranking and it currently ranks 69th among almost 169 countries.

Abdullaev also underscored that Uzbekistan had good record for attracting tourists in 2019 as the country ranked fourth in the global rankings and it moved to among 10 top tourist destinations in the world in 2019. He said over 3,000 Iranians visited Uzbekistan in 2019 and recent direct flight between Tehran and Tashkent will improve the number of Iranian visitors to Uzbekistan.

The Uzbek diplomat hailed Iranian government and Zagros Airline for launching the direct flight, expressing hope the number of flights would increase in near future.

Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan will host the event which will be held on March 5-6 in Tashkent.
