Iran After Buying Wheat From Uzbekistan

Head of Trade Promotion Organization Mr. Hamid Zadboum highlighted major programs of the 13th session of Iran-Uzbekistan Economic Commission which is scheduled to be held in the Uzbek capital Tashkent on Dec. 12-13.
He said that Iranian delegation is led by Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade and the commission will be chaired by Uzbekistan Deputy Prime Minister.
Zadboum said that since December 9, some workgroups have started their talks on different topics like investment and trade, tourism and banking, adding that the result of talks will be used in a draft for signing agreements for cooperation in the framework of the joint commission.
He added that the draft will be signed by officials of both states during the commission meeting.
Zadboum added that on the sidelines of the meeting, a trade delegation from private sector of Iran is to have talks with their Uzbek counterparts, adding that an exhibition with participation of 35 Iranian companies is to be held in the venue of the commission.
He said the exhibition will open today (Wednesday) and Iran’s industry minister will visit it on Thursday.
Zadboum also pointed to recent First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri’s visit to Tashkent where he had bilateral talks with Uzbek officials and the result of one of those talks is to let Iranians hold an exhibition on the sidelines of joint economic commission to put on display capabilities of Iranian producers.
He added that in previous visit to Uzbekistan, Iran reached an agreement to provide its wheat and essential commodities from Uzbekistan.
Zadboum also reiterated that talks in the joint commission meeting will not be limited to only trade, industry and mine and they also cover other sectors like cooperation on banking, insurance, energy, oil and gas, and both countries hope that they could improve the level of their bilateral trade.
