TEHRAN – Petrochimi Iran crashed Sareyyet Ramallah Palestine 108-45 on Day 3 of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2017 on Sunday.
The Iranians led by 5 at the end of the first quarter and never looked back, building a 25-point lead at the half and proceeding to continue pounding Sareyyet Ramallah’s hapless defense.
25-year-old Meysam Mirzaei was a tower of power for Petrochimi, scoring 16 points and grabbing 9 rebounds while shooting 6-of-8 from the field. Foreign player Willie Warren also impressed with 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting, while Arsalan Kazemi was ultra efficient with 11 rebounds and 3 steals in only 15 minutes of action.
Todd O’Brien was the only Sareyyet player in double-digits with 15 points and 11 boards. Anthony Weeden and Jamal Abu Shamala were held to a combined output of only 11 points.
The 2017 FIBA Asia Champions Cup is the 26th staging of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, the international basketball club tournament of FIBA Asia.
The tournament takes place in Chenzhou, China from 22 September to 30 September 2017.
This is second straight year that China hosts the tournament.
