Iranian karatekas bagged gold, silver and bronze medals at International Kyokushin Oyama Karate Championships held in Kiev, Ukraine, on October 27.
More than 300 karatekas from 10 countries participated in various competitions of the event; six karatekas represented Iran in this tournament; Edris Mahmoudzadeh and Omid Gol Cheshmeh won the gold medal, Mohammad Rahimifar snatched the silver, and Shahrokh Yazdani, Ahmad Sheikh Hosseini and Mohammad Mosaferfard won bronze medal.
Led by Mahyar Ziaei, Iranian team attended the tournament that was supported by Embassy of Japan in Ukraine.
Loghman Mahmoudi was also invited to Ukraine to judge the competitions at the invitation of the Kyokushin International Karate Federation.
A number of athletes from Ukraine, Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Sweden, Greece, Pakistan, Morocco and Moldova competed at the international tournament.
