An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 centered in the city of Barda, Azerbaijan Republic, jolted the border areas of Ardabil province.
According to the Iranian Seismological Center, the earthquake took place at 23:17, at a depth of 10 km in Azerbaijan.
The closest cities in Iran to the center of earthquake are three cities of Ardabil province, namely Aslandoz, Parsabad in 98 kilometers and Tazekand in 110 kilometers.
Parsabad Governor Akbar Samadi announced that military and police forces, the Red Crescent and emergencies have been immediately deployed to the villages.
No dead or injured has been reported.
