After US President Trump pulled US out of nuclear agreement in May 8, 2018, Iran agreed to remain in the deal without US and now US new sanctions are objected by Iran as illegal.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif posted a message on his Twitter account saying that Iran has lodged a complaint with the International Court of Justice against US unilateral measures in violating the multilateral treaty signed by Iran, EU, and 5+1 in 2015.

In a blatant case of violating the international regulations and laws, US President pulled US out of the nuclear agreement of 2015 and ordered a new round of sanctions to be levied against Iran. The Islamic Republic of Iran says that it is still abiding by the agreement- which was approved by UN Security Council- and condemns US measures as breaching of the international law.

“Today Iran filed a complaint @CIJ_ICJ to hold US accountable for its unlawful re-imposition of unilateral sanctions. Iran is committed to the rule of law in the face of US contempt for diplomacy & legal obligations. It’s imperative to counter its habit of violating int’l law,” reads Mr. Zarif’s tweet.
