The issue was raised in a meeting between Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for European Affairs Ali Ahani and visiting director general of the Dutch foreign ministry for Middle Eastern and North African affairs.
Ahani also called on the Dutch government to take proper measures to halt the ongoing trend of Islamophobia in the country and stop worsening ties between the European country and the Muslim World.
The Iranian deputy foreign minister also lambasted the stances adopted by the western states on Iran's internal developments, and added, "Unfortunately, these countries do not have a realistic understanding of developments in Iran and have (accordingly) adopted incorrect stances and they are necessitated to correct their understanding by adopting a rational approach."
At the meeting, the two sides also discussed bilateral ties and exchanged views over international and regional developments, including Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Dutch official, who is heading a delegation in the visit to Tehran, underlined that interactions between the two sides' officials plays a significant role in understanding the realities.
The official also expressed regret over anti-Islamic moves in his country, and said that such moves should not be viewed as showing his government's stance.
