TEHRAN – Paris-based Spanish filmmaker Victor Forniés will attend the 11th Cinema Verite festival in Tehran to promote his documentary “A Father” (“Un Padre”), the organizers announced on Monday.
The documentary is an intimate portrait of his father, seeking to understand the silence that has defined their relationship. It also depicts the emotional complexity of father-son relationships.
“A Father” will be screened in the official competition of the Cinema Verite, Iran’s major festival documentary cinema that will be held at Tehran’s Charsu Cineplex from December 10 to 17.
Over 60 filmmakers, international festival executives and film distributors have been invited to attend the Cinema Verite festival this year.
Renowned Italian documentarian Gianfranco Rosi, German filmmaker and journalist Andreas Ewels, French critic Matthieu Darras and program director of the Parisian festival of the Cinema du Reel Carine Bernasconi are just a few of the invitees.
Dozens of meetings and workshops are scheduled to be held by a number of the guests.
