Chairman of the Iran-Japan Joint Trade Committee says without any doubt reforming relations with Japan will help the trade ties between the two countries to broaden but at the current condition, there is no chance for direct import of cars from Japan.

Iran’s car production increased by nearly 53 percent year on year during the month to July 21, 2020, said a senior official of Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.

Acting Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Hossein Modarres Khiabani says the car production in the first four months of the current year has grown by 19 percent and after two years, the car industry has come out of negative growth.

The joint production of a new automobile under the brand name ECO, at Iran’s proposal, by the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) could prepare the ground for greater unity and cooperation in the bloc.

According to statistics, 90,306 passenger cars were manufactured in the previous month of the current year (May 21 to June 20), showing a 31 percent growth as compared to the last year’s corresponding period.
