Two famous Iranian musicians have collected almost 300 kinds of Iranian traditional musical instruments during the past 20 years across Iran and used them as the main collection of Isfahan Music Museum.

This museum displays Kamancheh (supposed to be the grandparent of the modern musical instrument the violin), Tar (supposedly the forefather of the guitar), drum-like instruments such as Tonbak and Daf which are loved mostly by the foreign tourists, Ney, Santour, Harp and many other traditional Persian musical instruments.
